I was wondering if someone in the "know" knows anything about the 3.5L that ShoShop says they are working on. I've seen that there for a while with no updates...anyone have additional info?

hmm, then why did/do they list it as fitting contour/cougars?? I'm sorry, but it just doesn't make sense that they'd list a 3.4L V8 that they know wouldn't fit..........and if you are correct Merc then what the hell will it fit if they are working on it for our cars?

Someone is WAY off base. Vadim was developing a stroker kit for the 3.0L block. I'm not sure if it also involved boring as well, but I do remember talk of a custom crank to achieve the larger displacement. The only way to know for sure is to call them and ask ... I'm too poor to even consider this, so I won't waste my time. Their phone number is on their site if you are serious.

it was to be a storked and bored 3L block....

i have data that shows the 3L won't go much past 3.4L on bore... and even that that point it's not very safe... i would say if they can net .25L on stroke and .25L on bore it would be a nice block with even more torque down low... the stroked enging should also shift the power band ever so slighty towards a lower rpm range, meaning easier to drive on the street, but more/earlier shifting needed on the course in order to stay in the power band

I had totally guessed with my above post.. but taking into consideration you saying the anything above 3.4 could not be achieved on the 3.0, I assumed they just did it with the 3.4L V8

Iceotron, I didn't mean to get you so pissed off.. sorry.. I didn't know you would get so angry about it.. seemed like a pure simply honest answer to me..

sorry merc, didn't mean to come off pissy or angry. I just reread the post and it came off way off base....sorry about that. I guess in my head while typing it last night it didn't click (prick) about myself

Puck and trevor thanks for the info, I really appreciate it.

Unless you know off hand what the status of this motor is I just may give them a call. Although this would be a winter project when my cougar is stored anyways.

100% vaporware.

Plus if it ever does materialize the cost should be enough the buy another car or two. You know SHOShop. ($2k+ for a 3L shortblock :stupid: ) What a crock of ****...

I somehow doubt it is vaporware, most of the stuff that I have purchased from the SHOshop for my SHO have netted amazing results, albeit a bit on the pricey side. If they are doing a 3.5 bored and stroked motor for the CSVT/Cougar it is prolly already a reality at thier shop thy jsut don't have it tuned perfectly yet. They just brought out plans to do a 3.3L for SHO's that looks to be a great level or performance VS price, and the best part is that all the stuff they use for all these projects is 100% off the shelf thinks like pistons and what not. Anyone can take a block and crank to a good machine shop and have the block bored, and have an offset gound crank made up.

I don't own a cougar but I'm interested in learning about the 3.0 swaps you guys can do. A CSVT or Cougar was a thought for my future avet I get finished building out my SHO.

I'll believe it when I see it. And if gets done and somebody orders it, will it get lost in the mail?

Too many Contour and Cougar owners have had bad luck with the SHO Shop. Based on what I have read about the SHOShop on our various forums and from the experiences of our members, it seems like SHO Shop/Evosport have a hard time supporting customers outside of their region. Certainly enough to deter me from doing business with them at this moment and go with companies that directly contribute to our community or actually do stuff instead of talk about it.
