DanG and I arrived at FastCougars with 415 miles on the 3.0L, they had about a 10 - 15 mile journey halfway through the night, putting him around 430, and then a 25 mile drive home.. ending the night at approximately 455 miles... So.. Unless Dan didn't drive anywhere Sunday (very doubtful)... he should be crossing his 500 mile threshhold today...

and I want to know one thing...

HOW DOES IT PULL!?! :)

You are correct, Steve- HOWEVER:

500 miles is just the CLUTCH break-in period. Now- I change the oil tonight, and start steadily increasing throttle and RPMs until I get to 1000 miles, at which point, I change the oil again, and then it's just a goddamn free-for-all.

:hitit:

Anyone got an S-AFC II LE that they want to get rid of? I'm running waaaay rich. EBay wants $310 + 20 shipping... :disgust:

Well.. considering how quickly you put on 500 miles this last time.. You may have 1000 by July 4th...

And since I know you are just as impatient as me.. you will change the oil on July 4th.. and I am riding with you on the way to Gordonsville for the festivities. ;)

Any reason for going through this "break in" period? Seemes extreme, is it because of the hybrid?

I'm up to 700 miles on the 4.6... It's feeling pretty healthy so far too :cover:

But oh yeah... the magic 1000 mile mark.... I know exactly what the suspense is like!

New Clutch
New LSD
Dan completly rebuilt his engine; bearings, rings, etc etc

It's cheap insurance if you ask me.

I also went through a 1000 mile break in period. :)

Oh, complete rebuild? I was under the assumption it was just a hybrid. Basically he has a NEW engine, which would require the normal break in period. I figured he had parts of engines that were already broken in. I see. :)

Ness: You'll be at CougarFest? I'll be there with the car...

580 miles and counting... Running rich- Car feels like it's bogging, especially under heavy throttle (75-80%)... So, I bought one of these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=33597&item=2421447815)... Limited Edition (Hey, the blue display on the standard S-AFCII would have clashed with my green gauges! ;))
