Headlight Painting...

I just got done painting headlights and am ABOUT to put them back together....

But i was just curious......Why does everyone leave the reflector out???

Doesnt it look weird with the triangular hole there???

Some people mold the reflector over & be done w/it. Some leave it empty & looking awkward. Some go to a home improvments store & buy the plastic acrylic used in florecent light covers & cut out their own shape. Which can look good if done properly.

CAT's for example, seems to look good in the pics. In real life...dunno. I'd sooner leave the reflector in there before leaving a bulb hanging freely in there.

From the ones I've seen with out the reflector, that don't have anything in them, I couldn't really notice they were out til I actually looked for it....

i just painted mine black... looks good IMO... if your painting your headlights, you might as well paint the reflector too... and leave it in so you dont see the hole.

I see...

I painted them silver (for someone else) and put the original orange reflector back in...

It looks kinda cool...like its supposed to be body color...

I like it...

I'll have to post some pix if i can get a chance to take pictures :)

i dont have a close up pic yet....but....i was painting all weekend, lol...repainted the little shroud thing above the grill.....It was painted like sh*t before...so i took and re did it with blue metalcast...


Looks nice....

When i get a chance ima paint the little battery cover and washer fluid thingy too....they were painted crappy too....

yes. you did a very good job on them (wo)mang.
also on that shroud. it was embarassingly bad before.. especially since the rubber molding strip was painted and flakey etc.

I left mine out, and people usually comment on how much better it looks without it.

Yeah....Its funny, it was painted really bad and flaking off....but i had to scrape the shiet off, lol.... It was pretty easy though....and the plastic was easily sanded off...i think it wasnt hitemp paint, and it was really fricking rushed and just bad....


Anyone need any painting? rofl, lol...i need to make some money ;-)

i'm night shading my tails so i thought i would just night shade the reflector too since i have 99-00 headlights. i'm going to paint the little indentions over the beam shafts white to match the car...maybe gunmetal dunno
