Which is better at 2 or 4 ohms, Bridged or stereo :wiggle:
Any comments with suggestions on any type of box with pic or diagram

I know nothing about your specific amplifier but, I do know that 2 ohm is better than 4.

if i remember right that amplifier isn't 2 ohm stable....... could be wrong though. i had the pro class 2.600 and if i remember right it wasn't 2 ohm stable. but i have had quite a few different systems in my vehicles so i could be getting it confused with another amplifier. check your papers with the amplifier before you ever do a 2 ohm drop on it. but i would advise not pumping the entire amplifier on those subs. i had my pro class (running on 4 ohm) to my 3 jl w6 15" and it liked to fry them. could have been the box we were running on them though. just a 6 cubic foot box with a port 4 inches tall, 12 inches wide, and 18 inches deep. tuned to 42 hertz. it hit right around 158 consistently, and that was in the trunk (this is in my ole 94 cougar). the amplifier is very powerful, so be careful.

According to the paper work it's 2ohm stereo and 300 watts, and 4 ohm bridged 600 watts and 4 ohm stereo 150 watts. I'm just trying to get the best I can out of the subs and the amp :banghead:

2 ohm isnt better than 4............500 watts at 2 ohm and 500 watts at 4 ohm are the same thing basically

Sub and amp combinations vary so just hook it up all the ways and use what ever sounds best to you, it doesnt take that much time or effort to try all the different combinations. Worst that will happen is you trip the safty on the amp which will tell you that combo doesnt work.

No, no, no, no, no.
If you want to have your amplifier constantly going into protect mode or possibly even being damaged by the low impedance, then sure wire it up for a 2 ohm mono (or less) load. If the paperwork from PPI says that it's stable into a bridged 4 ohm mono load, then that's as low as you can go. Please don't risk damaging (or ruining) your amplifier just to play around with different wiring. If you don't know how to wire your subwoofers correctly, visit JL Audio's website and read the tutorials on subwoofers, multiple voice coils and Ohm's Law.
