OK guys and gals....my wife has problems seeing at night and I want to get the best, brightest and whitest bulbs possible for her 01-02 headlights. Does anyone have any suggestions for me and where to get them. Any time she wants to go somewhere at night now....she wants to drive my 3000...because..."I can see better with your headlights...they're a lot brighter and whiter!" Please help....I don't want my car dinged all to hell at the mall and Wal-Mart parking lots! This will probably help other members as well! Thanks!!

I thought that the headlights were not too bright as well, so I swapped out the 9006 (low beam) bulbs for a set of 9005 (high beam) bulbs. The conversion is really straightforward. If you look inside the "socket" of the bulbs, you'll see some "tabs" in there. To put 9005 in the 9006 headlight housings, simply trim off those "inside tabs" and with either a dremel or utility knife, trim one of the three "ouside" tabs on the headlight bulb housing a little bit so that the bulb slides inside the low-beam housing. It takes all of finve minutes and the lighting is drastically improved! You also don't have to worry about buring up your wiring, since the bulbs are the same wattage. Hi-beam bulbs just don't have all the "coating" on the front of the bulb like low-beams do, giving you improved lighting. The low-beam housings are also designed to project the light downward onto the road surface, so you don't have to worry about blinding oncoming traffic either.

well im not totally sure if you are looking for the company type but i would have to HIGHLY RECCOMMEND PIAA's they are beautiful.. there a little expensive but well worth it.. i put H3 piaa for the fogs and 9006 for the lows.. X-Treme White. and they are legal.. not that stupid ugly blue tint from Target stuff, mind you. the lights are a much cleaner and crisp white. they basically look cleaner then the factory Sylvania

I went with the Sylvania's that "topgunz1" referred to when I changed from 9006's to 9005's. I recommend them as well. PIAA makes a GREAT bulb, but the cost simply does not justify the results for me.

i cant believe charles hasnt mentioned my mishap with the bulbs in my car.
Purchase X-Bulbs from Nopi: 15 buks
Gasoline for the drive home: 6 buks
Headlights, electrical wiring, and harnesses burning into ragin flames: FREE Thanks to APC
Repairs, parts, and labor: 460 dollars
Driving Home with the feeling of being raped by the dealership and screwed over again in the ass by APC: Priceless? No i think not try $480 just to have a cool little white bulbs in your car for 2 weeks.
If you replace your bulbs, and two weeks later you have a white smoke filling your entire car choking you to death you know what it is. Keep this thread bookmarked
edit: oh yeah, refer to my signature picture , thats how my bulbs looked before i almost got burned alive
