look familiar?
If I didn't love all the frenchblue accents in my car (although I'm totally in love with all the aluminum/silver accents too), I'd totally swap out my stereo for this one.
It even has a silver display.

why are you even using the pioneer head unit? the stock ls deck is a great deck, spec wise. imo i think your new dash look is way too much clutter for what you really have. a simple flip up screen and stand alone dvd player would have been way easier and less bs to screw with. anyway...

from what it looks to me Excelcier is using the Pioneer headunit to run the audio source to his speakers... using an fm modulator which is running at 88.3mhz ;)

Yes I'm crazy. DV6Cougar is correct.

Even thought the whole system is cool, it can't play MP3's so I am using that as my main audio deck for sound tuning and MP3's. The OEM system around it does not have the ability to sound tune as aftermarkets do.

i got the same headunit as excelcier and i must say the unit is awesome. there is nothing like having 200 songs on one cd and the great ability to fine tune everything. i don't think it's the loudest deck in the world, but the clarity is very good. good choice on the unit excelcier:thumbsup:

Darn right! Nothing but the best. I have had an MP3 deck in my car now for over 3 years... can't live without one.
good choice on the unit excelcier
My choice was biased though... I work for Pioneer.

i guess is still cant figure out why you just didnt get a stand along dvd/cd player, like the sdvp7 and a raw 6.5 or 8" screen. there really wasnt any need for you do what you did with your dash just to get video in there. im really not trying to be a dick, but you have too much doing what little could have done. especially since you work for pioneer. guess you guys must not have any cdrb10s in stock thats why youre using the fm modulator? hmmmmm

Truthfully, I did it the way I did for a few reasons.
1) I started off with the 740MP deck alone as just audio ( I have to have my MP3's )
2) I got a job at Pioneer
3) I was lucky enough to get my hands on the navigation system but planned on using an in-dash aftermarket Pioneer DVD player in the future so I used an FM modulator ( I have like 50 laying around my basement ) for the audio output of the nav system assuming I'd use the CD-RB10 RCA to IP-BUS Adapter to eventually run the Pioneer aftermarket DVD.
4) I got a onetime lucky deal shot at the OEM DVD unit that is controlled by the Nav system and couldn't pass it up for free.
5) With only a few days to get in installed (I'm on a tight schedule right now) I didn't have time to get the CD-RB10 in time so I'm temporarily using the modulator and I'll change it to the CD-RB10 in the future.
That's the history of why.
Besides, like my other mods, NO ONE HAS THIS SETUP which appeals to me as I prefer unique mods. Any idiot can hook up an in-dash DVD or an aftermarket screw-into-plastic screen in 10 minutes, this is far more custom.
