View Full Version : MC-NECO New Member Overload!

I haven't checked my mc-neco.com messages for awhile and had 25! 20 of which from new members wanting to be verified! Since 20 Cougars at Pucks house just isn't possible, I think I'll schedule a "Meet and Greet" sometime in August. I'm also going to have the site email you when you have a message waiting.

I'm thinking Hines Park, Kensington, or some other place with a large lot (that's free). Any ideas? I'll probably shift around some dates until we get a maximum coverage of people.

The new members are out there, and if any of you are reading but haven't posted yet, please do so. If we have enough come forward we can start having monthly meetings.

ALSO: I suck at calling people on the phone, so if anyone wants to be designated "New Member Greeter" let me know and I can forward them all to you. In case you don't know, admins are supposed to call new members and verify their phone # before giving them full access (to our contact list.) That or the new member can just show up at a meet (so we know they exist). The only perk is that you get to control who lives and who dies in the realm of mc-neco.com (plus you meet new Cougar owners).

Yeah, it would be great if MC-NECO.com emailed for a new message as I don't log into it all that often.

As for a "meet and greet" in August.... duhh.. August 9th is the Summer Cougar Extravaganza. It's the perfect time for local meeting!

Just advertise it to the new members.

ding ding!

sounds like we have a weiner :)

I think calling them all is a great idea, but more immediate to that, Brad can you put together an email to all MC-NECO members (new or otherwise) about August 9th, letting them know it's a cruise, meet n' greet, and the link to the website. Also let them know they are going to be called. Then maybe in a couple weeks a few of us can take on the job of actually following up with phone calls. I'll help out in that department.

I think it's a great idea to have someone call to verifty they acually do exist and are intersted in MC-NECO. If you need some help, I'd be more then welcome to help the calling.

My house had a power outage from 7:00pm lastnight till 9:00am this morning. My UPS battery died 4 days ago and I think the power company is going out of their way to throw as many outages as they can before I get my replacement.

I added the Extravaganza! event under the events tab and will setup the email function along with a "mass mailing" feature so you can spam all members from one screen. Communication is definately our biggest issues so hopefully these fixes will help.

Dante and Mcon: if you guys are serious about being the new member liasons I'll give you Admin access and you can verify them. Right now they get a list of all the admins (half of which never check the site) to message for the validation.

OK, maybe I'm blind but I don't see this on the event tab on MC-NECO.

I'm hoping everyone got my latest spam from MC-NECO, so here is what I've changed:

Updates:

- When you send a message to someone on MC-NECO they will get an email alerting them about it.
- When you add an EVENT, an email will automatically go out to the ENTIRE CLUB alerting them about it.
- ADMINS ONLY - You'll see a new link called "PUBLIC ADDRESS" under the ADMIN tab. You can email the entire club using this link.

Mcon, Zalec and Excelcier have all indicated interest in becoming "New Member Liasons"

It would involve calling/meeting new members before verifying them and granting access to all our contact info. If you guys have no problems calling strangers then PM me or reply here saying "I want to be a liason" and I'll have the server send you an email everytime a new member joins along with admin access to validate.

These changes are long overdue. We always have issues organizing events and getting people to show up. Now that everything goes right to your inbox we might have more activity.

Hey Brad, any way you can email me the info from my profile? I need my mod list, and the largest version of the pics you have for me. I am trying for some sponsorship, and I need to put together my Portfolio. I lost some of that info with my virus when I first moved here, and I am still trying to reorganize from that. Thanks alot dude! Let me know when the site comes back up, I will be more than willing to offer advice to the new members taking my place in Michigan ;)

Thanks Brad for the quick reply. I can't get the site to work still, actually. I will keep trying it though. I am discussing some sponsorship deals right now with a few different companies, and I have a show this weekend, and 2 weekends from now, both in LA. So I want to be able to get some new things done before those. I will fill you in on my newest tragedy later, it almost tops the Florida fiasco from last year. You remember driving us around after my computers fried. This time my brakes and my wheel and my body work were the parts damaged. Most of which is already fixed, however. Anyways, you guys should have seen this widebody Cougar in San Diego, it had a turbo, racing seats, racing steering wheel, nice big wheels.

Extreme Autofest in San Diego: Pics of my Cougar (http://www.autoimportcraze.com/coverage2.php?menu=3&Warn=0&ShowID=80&car=1&pageNum_rsPhotos=2&totalRows_rsPhotos=307)

(Mine is on this page, second from last row, the widebody is on another page, I forget which. There is a Mustang with 21" wheels also, and a ton of sweet Supras and RX-7s and whatnot.)

It was an I4 with drum rotors though, so a base package Cougar. Anyways, check out the pics...congrats on the new members, NECO is blowing up lately!

Cool, its working now Brad. Just my shortcut: nictlg.cougarfest.com, that doesn't work anymore.
I appreciate you hosting my profile still. I don't really have any other place that lists my modifications and whatnot. If I send you a few newer pictures, could you update my profile once more? I will take some interior pictures at this show this weekend, and I have the ones from the last few shows of my exterior. So perhaps a few of those can be added, and one made my large one. I need to have something to show these people if they want to consider me for sponsorship. So let me know if that is cool, and I will email them to you when I get them together. Thanks again,
Nic
BTW: have you dyno'd your car yet? Mine is still having problems with the oxygen sensors and whatnot, but I am supposed to getting a few dyno runs in a few weeks. Lemme know, I am curious what that SC is putting out!

I'm getting a dyno at Cougarfest so I'll know then. As for pics, you can use the new Upload Box in your profile. Just click the link or go to http://atomicinternet.homeip.net/upload and upload your pic. It will spit out a URL to the pic and you just copy/paste that into your profile.
You can host it on MC-NECO as long as you want. Any profile with pics is a valuable commodity :)

Back to the original thread topic: thanks to dante and zalec who are the current new member verifiers with mcon following when I get his PM.
