ok, we finally got to the problem.
now this is not what we've been told in the past however, the Embassy here in Denmark said that we were in America too long after our visa's expired, which would mean that we are in the US illegally, however, this is not true.
there was a 180 day rule to get out and this ended on Aug. 1st 2002, and we left July 12th 2002, so there must be a mistake.
They also said that in our letter asking for our visas home we had said that our intentions were ona permanent basis, however, it was not. We had siad we wanted to get a trial period back at home to get my mom's business of the ground, and if we could we could get a different visa from there and move on to get our permanent status that way.
So now I think that our lawyer may have been a little misleading the whole time. However if there is a problem with miscommunication, then there has to be a way out. I will keep you all informed as I get more info.
Tommorow we will be e-mailing to the Senator again, and I will be including the e-mails some of you sent to me about our case that were originally going to Fox News.
edit as i just told Kristy and realized i had not put that in here
Stephen Leak at the Senators office had talked to our contact Patty Kourakis for quite sometime today, so I think we may have a solid connection now, that is more then likely willing to help.
Thanks agian for listening.
