Sunday June 29th - Mod Meet @ PuckPuck's

All is good to have it at my house.

I have tools, 3 jacks, 6 jackstands. I can get a decent compressor no probs with most air tools. I even have drill press, vice, bench grinder and die grinder for some minor fabrication work if needed. If someone wants to bring an extra socket set that would be great to.

I want to make this a potluck thing. Everyone is in charge of bringing a food item and we can have a nice BBQ lunch/dinner.

I have a large 15'X22' deck to lounge on afterwards. Driveway holds 4 cars easy, another one in the garage, with working room all around. My house is not hard to find from any border, and I will post directions by Friday if this is going to be a turn out.

It's time for the yankees to come to canuckland so get off your asses and let's go :)

even better I already have that day off from the fiancee, and so does excelcier if I remember correctly

I'll be bringing:

(a) my tools
(b) Dual Mass Damper and needed hardware
(c) front sway bar bushings
(d) my brand new seats, they should already be installed by then!
(e) hamburgers
(f) beer
(g) :smoke-g:

and anything else i can think of between then and now

Yup, my wifey and Mcon's wifey are both going to chickville ( the mall ) on Sunday so my noose is also loose. I'll probably come by too.

By then I should have my latest and greatest mod finished. I'm probably going to just hang out though.. I'm done modding for a while... I ran out of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ but I'll watch and lend a hand. I always love seeing new stuff.

What's everyone planning on bring food-wise so that everyone doesn't bring the same thing? What time is everyone planning on showin up?

barring any unforeseen circumstance...i think you guys can count on the rasta to be there!
i don't really have any mods to do, but who cares! i'll bring beer, and of course my infamous rasta pork chops.

edit: hey puck, if i came on the saturday, do you think i could get my alternator rebuilt at the same place you got yours done? that would ensure that i make it down to cougarfest...because there aren't that many weekends left, and i'm busy the weekend after...and i don't wanna drive down to VA on an alternator thats on the fritz...

like i said, if i can get a little help taking out my alternator on saturday so i can get it rebuilt, i'm so there....otherwise, i'll have to stay home and do it by myself :(

umm i woudl like to stop by for a few hours depends on how far across the boarder it is? puck? i have no mods but if i come i will have a cougar wiht no interior since i have it apart in my garage again... but eh it is worth it when i get the shroud moulded righT? but umm whattime i promised the girl that i would spend friday-monday wiht her but i bet i coudl sneak away for a few hours to chill in canada and meet some cougar people... plus i really wanna looka t the 3.0 maybe it will inspire my new found need for power (hell mcon99 made a comment that made me zip tie my secondaries which was cool cause i raced a prelude newest boidy style and beat it... stock i believe atx..)

Cougars, Contours, SRTs, RSX-Ss, Celicas, trust me if it's a car, likes to be tuned.... IT'S VERY WELCOME AT MY HOUSE...

In fact having over 150K in cars in my driveway is quite common site :)

I've haven't had my alternator done. My car only has 33K Kms and it hasn't bit the big one yet...

unless you get creative and buy a dead alternator or core you can rebuild before this weekend, just get a new one and we'll pop it in. Usually you'll get a refund on the dead one (called a core charge) once you return it with the receipt. It won't be as good as a freshly rewound alternator but it will be better than nothing and get you to cougarfest :)

ok, here is the dealio....i called every alternator shop that yellowpages.ca turned up...not a single one of them has a rebuilt alternator in stock for our car...

but, I called a shop in windsor that does (first choice starter and alternator - 3750 walker rd.)...they are open on saturday morning, and they want $160 for the rebuilt alt + plus your stock one. but, even thought i could make it down there for saturday morning, i doubt we could get the alternator out in time and to that shop to do the swap...i asked the guy if i could buy the rebuilt one and put the core charge on my credit card, and ask one of you super nice windsor guys to return it for me on monday, and he said they could probably work that out...

edit: on second thought....maybe no one in toronto had one cuz i told them i had a 2000 mercury cougar....might i have better luck if i told them i had a ford contour? if so, are their any differences between the alternators between contour model years?

ding ding. sounds like a plan.

As long as that rebuilt alt. is sitting on the shelf right now, I'm sure you could convince puck or myself to return your old one.... unless ... no just kidding :biggrin:

there is no difference in the contour alts but your unlikely to get a better response if you ask for one of those because shops usually cross reference things by part #'s, not vehicle codes. Since the part # is the same, it shouldn't matter whether you tell them you have a cougar or contour.

just make sure you'll be to Windsor in time before the shop closes on saturday! If thats not possible then i'll probably be a nice guy and go get it for you if you let them know I'm coming.

worse comes to worse after i get out of work i can bring you a HO alt for your car from my dad's shop... you won't be able to get it started on till about 7ish

you can get a rebuilt alt from your dad's shop? how much would that cost me? i wouldn't mind going that route even if it costs a little more if it means that nobody has to bother doing any running around for me....and as long everyone else is there till 7, i don't see any reason why i wouldn't ;)

I HATE YOU ALL.....WHY DOES EVERY MEET HAVE TO BE SUNDAYS!!!!! I WORK SUNDAY, I WOULD BE THERE SATURDAY...AND WILL BE IN TOWN....BUT NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....THE MEET IS ON SUNDAY.
