I'm getting ready to run the wires for my system (I don't have all of the equipment yet but I want to get all of the wiring set up). Anyways, I used the search but I still have a couple questions.
1.) For my front speakers (CDT CL-61) is it okay just to use the stock speaker wire? I don't really feel like pulling the door panels and running new wire.
2.)
Thanks!
<EDIT> Just found the answer to my second question!

I don't see any reason why you'd have to run new wires for the speakers, unless you're wiring them to an amp in which case you'd have to run new wires anyway. I'm using the same wires for my speakers.

I had a 94 camaro with a kicking system that I installed. The specs were:
4 tweeters
4 infinity 6" with built in tweeters
2" Kicker 10's in custom box
2 Amps
One amp I had was a 4 channel 400 watt amp, 100 watt to each 6 ". I ran new wire for these. The wire was really expensive and had a plastic wire running through the middle. This supposedly kept the wattage on the outside of the wire where it had more surface area and moved through the wire faster. A marketing scam, possibly but it looked damn good too.
The other amp I bridged to run the two subs at 300 watts connected parallel. I forgot exactly what ohms I was running at but this makes a big big difference while making a system.
I head front and rear pre amp outs on my radio so the powered speaker wires were left free, which is what I hooked the tweeters to. I bought some cheap tweeters and connected them to the stock speaker wires in the front and rear. I was running about 35 watts to the tweeters, which wasn't really enough to make them noticable since it takes a lot to run tweeters. The extra power was there and the tweeters were cheap and I was happy with them.
When running your wire the best thing to do would be to completely remove your seats and carpet to run the wires under it. I cut a small hole in the carpet in my trunk with the wires coming out of it straight to a fuse box or the amps. The amps were mounted on the back trunk area (hatch back camaro) and the subs were mounted in a custom box in the ttop well.
I would suggest doing research on watts and ohms before buying u're speakers and amps. Most technicians in stereo stores want your money and will set u're system up wrong.
Hopefully that helps you out a bit.

Thanks for the info Rodney. Yep, I know how stores try to rip you off that's why I researched different components for a year :). The CL-61's are components so I am running them off of an amp. Does this mean I have to run the new wire then? I guess it would be helpful to let you guys know what I am installing.

I didn't feel like starting a new topic so I am just going to ask another question in here. I am going to remove my seats when I run all of my wiring. Can anyone tell me how to actually do this? I have an idea but my Dad is being weird and wants me to double check. Also, I don't have to remove the seat brackets, do I?
