Really late notice, just a reminder I guess for any last minute guys. For those of you not going, I'll have a boatload of pictures, like a hundred or more I'm sure. Plus small videos. <3 digi cam.

Okay, editing:

Okay, my dad takes TERRIBLE pictures. He had to come to sign for under 18. Wasn't bad. Damn aries was sitting my my car as I stand.

Me stuck at the start cause of a moron trash talking eclipse owner who pushed his rod through his oil pan and went down the quarter mile sprayin' oil.

Aries sitting in my god damn car... I was taking pictures. (Bet you never knew I got that one. :))

I have no idea why I have this picture.

COVER YOUR EYES LADIES, IT'S ABOUT TO GET HOT IN HERE, OH ****.

I thought the male strip show between cougars and racing was HOT. (Not really.) But here's a picture of some strippage anyways.
Also, it's a prime example of extreme sticker useage. And you thought those girls in kindergarden put Lisa Frank stickers on everything? Look again, stickers kick ass (as long as it's not shown on outside)

Our cars, first pic I took.

PLEASE NOTE ARIE'S BROKEN SIDEMARKER. THANKS.

This was the 85 Dodge GTH Turbo Aspire whatever the hell that was pulling low 14's, no mods. Only thing was front slicks and later he put on graphics... flames... with electrical tape. That d00d rocked.
Got more on the film camera, gotta get developed etc. Wish I would of taken more, but oh well. (and better ones actually, but was too busy doing other stuff)

I would also like to note they made us LEAVE THE TRACK TO GET PANTS. YES, WE COULD NOT RACE WITHOUT PANTS. (Maybe pants make people like Aries NOT downshift into 2nd gear while doing 70 miles an hour. Never thought I'd see a cougar's exhaust spew hot gases like that. He did get a hell of a good time on that run tho, I dunno how.)

Definately fun as hell, it'd be worth a cougar meet next year in my opinion, got 13 runs in. That was going pretty slow paced too. Non stop could of done 20+ runs I think.

But hell, I brought a full tank of gas (I MEAN FULL) and alot of extra weight... 17.3 was best:( So hot out... oh well. I'll get pictures soon.

My car dissapointed me.. I was hoping with the 13 or 14 runs I had, I could break into 15's.. but NOOOOO... My best was 16.2.. I'm guessing it's the heat, but don't think it was.. I'm wondering what I gotta do to pick up that lost performance in my engine.. clean my UIM? Clean my air filter? Get Nitrous and a Turbo?

Overall, had a great time.. other than waiting for the track to be cleaned cuz some butthole was showing off his car, revving his engine past redline on the starting line, and sent a rod through his oil pan, which caused it to pour oil out onto the track.. then the butthole decided, "Eh.. MY oil pan has a Hole in it, so why not take it down the strip and leave oil all over the lane.."

oh well.. I had fun.. I got more than one run in, and I saw a lot of nice cars..

Intake/Exhaust, gutted precats.. that's all for performance.. unless you count suspension as performance too.. then it's GCs & ST200 struts..

I got the engine up to 2500, feathered the clutch a little just enough not to bog down or spin the wheels..

I've noticed my car redlines in 1st at 30mph. 2nd 50mph, and 3rd 80mph... so I shift a couple mph before that... I chirp second, I can hear my belt slip when going into 3rd, and a couple times I couldn't get it into 4th unless I shift slowly..(Once I accidentally put it in 2nd.. OOPS! NOT GOOD!) ..

anyways.. reaction time was always crap cuz it was an instant green tree.. no countdown lights.. and I almost always got 83-84mph whenever I hit all my shifts..

So Mr. Oven.. What's wrong with my car or my driving!!

oh.. I also ran with 18's... that probably didn't help, but a whole second slower than average?

That's almost what I've got (minus my tranny mods) and I ran mid 15's before any of the tranny work.

First of all do your shifting based off the RPM, not your MPH. I would say for 1-2, and 2-3, shift at about 6500 RPM, and after that i'd wind 3rd out until 6700 (right before the rev limit) and then shift into 4th.

For the launch, Try 3000-3500 rpm, feathering the clutch. I like a LITTLE wheel spin... Call me stupid but I'd rather spin for a fraction of a second than bog down etc. If this gets you wheel hop, Get an energy suspension engine mount insert. This will help reduce wheel hop. How are yout 60' times?

If you feel comfortable doing it, power shift (keep gas down while shifting). This will hurt your transmission (synchros) on repeated use. Otherwise, just practice your shifts and figure out how to shift as quickly as humanly possible. The cougar's clutch is able to shift with the pedal depressed only about an inch and a half. So you don't need to push the pedal in all the way down to shift.

Your suspension sounds good. The wheels MAY slow you down a tad, but I wouldn't think by a full second.

Gotta learn how to hit 4th gear first dude.

2 =| 4 :)

I honestly think you ran the best possible for the conditions... and wow do MTX shift differently... I could run the quarter in 1 and 2. 1st stops @ 42 or so, and 2nd would probably let me get through the whole thing.
