I just wonder if the Predator hood would look out of place on my car since everything else is pretty much stock, ya know?

Edit: thanks George!

Michelle, as much money as you could get from selling the hood, you can purchase a full drift kit for your car and have money left over!

I say sell the hood and get a drift kit!

BIG EDIT: BUT, if you plan on modding your car later down the road with a body kit, KEEP the hood, because Aerogear slacks in their production and theres a backorder most of the time. The CF Predator is a great investment. So basically ya have to weigh what your planning to do. If your not planning on modding your car cosmetically down the road because of cash availability, sell the hood, if you plan on getting a kit later on down the road, save the hood and keep it in your apartment. :)

but then there is the expense of having the kit put on...painted....................and if I got a kit, I would REALLY want a hood :banghead: So I would be back to square one

im sure chris or some of the guys down there would be more than willing to put on your kit, then the only thing you would have to pay for is painting, which is always gonna be way cheaper to do. i know what ya mean by keeping the hood.

Now that i think about it id say keep the hood. For one reason only, the cost to waiting ratio for a drift kit is far less than trying to obtain a CF predator down the road.

Cost of Predator: 699 + Waiting for backorder

Drift Kit: 499+ Available right away ( plus you know you have an amazing hood waiting for your kit to come in)

DgnZCoug.. don't forget the cost of installing a Drift kit properly.. you are looking at over $1500 - $2000 just to install it.

Michelle.. we took the kit off our car.. only exterior mods right now are wheels, kaminari hood and eclipse fuel door.. she looks hot.. I'd keep the hood and worry about the kit later. :)

In fact.. use your WW gift certificate and get a piece of the kit, we'll sell you our WW rear and you'll only need 2 more pieces :)

i dunno about that. If you mold the kit on yeah I can see it being that high, but just attaching the pieces, highly doubtful that would be the cost just for installing it. My friend recieved the new drift kit from ebay and there were no issues on the pieces fitting up. He got the kit painted and put on for 1500. His sides didnt require molding, and they fit right up with no gaps, petrusions, etc. The final outcome looked amazing for the price. But, maybe the prices are a little steeper up there.

Personally, I don't like CF on black cars....... I would say if you sold the hood you could definately afford some of the subtle kits that you like

Sounds like someone is trying to talk her into it. My offer still stands..........

How come I knew someone was gonna say that  I'm not tryin to talk her out of her hood...I think anyone that knows me knows that I'd like to have it, BUT it is her hood so I honestly dont care what she does with it.....thats why I said that if she sold it for close to retail, she could buy some of ther subtle kits that she happens to like.....

I know I know, just giving you a hard time. **** I would like the hood....I would also like the Wings West kit.

And yeah you are right she could definitly get a nice kit with the money she would get from the hood, but I guess we will all soon see what she decides.

Note: I do not take everything so seriously..............(comment not pointed at Loyalty)

i was going to say it as soon as i read it...but getting out of bed at noon, i see i missed the chance to be first!!

my actual opinion on the thread...not too crazy about the CF on black either. what about selling it for 5 or 6 hundred and then getting a Kam hood and then use extra money and WW gift certificate for a kit? then you'd have kit and hood

Only bad thing is WW kit will put you back $750 + Kam Hood $400 - $100 GC - $600 Hood GC = $450 I guess thats still not that bad!

exactly...and Merc has already offered to sell his part of WW kit to her so that would be cheaper than new...might be able to get complete WW kit used. just painting and install would run it back up though

still not bad for all that "material"

I've always loved the look of C/F on black cars, almost as much as on white cars :D Seriously though, keep the hood. It'll set the front end off so much more when you get the kit, and it'll look fine in the meantime by itself. And, the price of kits has steadily been going down, wait 2 more months and it'll be even cheaper I bet. Keep the hood, save a buy a kit, put both of them on and you'll be golden.

BTW: $1500 for a kit install and paint? I could install, mold, and paint your whole car for that. I tell you what, if you buy kit, drive to S.C. and I'll prep, install, and paint the kit for 1/4 of that price.

.............but if you do sell it, sell it to me.
