View Full Version : Where do I say "Hello" ?
Hi all,
My (new to me) Cougar takes possession of me on Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm.
I just wondered if I had to go to the Newbies forum to say "Hi"

Hello Purr,
As everyone has said, welcome to our Club.

In don't remember adding anyone from York recently.
Or am I going mad?

Saying Hello here is fine.
If you are getting it on Saturday you could give it a run on Sunday down to the Sixfields Leisure Complex, Northampton meeting and say Hello in person.

Hi Purr
Hope you enjoy your new cat

Thanks for your replies. Nice to see that it's a friendly forum. I have been having a look around and it seems full of useful information.
I don't think I will be making any dramatic modifications to my car, but those front and rear club badges sound good:cool:
When I saw my car last Saturday I was hooked. My intention was to swap my Celica for something smaller, cheaper to run, less tax and with lower insurance but a run in with a crooked car dealer at Reg Vardy - Harrogate changed my mind for me.
I saw a S Reg Renault Clio 1.6 RXE over priced at £5500 He said for £3000 more he would part ex it for my N reg Celica!! I don't think so!!! I actually saw the very Clio for sale on their web site for £1000 less and A1 condition Clio is worth about £3700.
So I went on Autotrader looking for any Automatic.......... The Cougar was there! so much for a small runaround............ 2.5V6 Auto XPack (Silver Frost)

hi purr
I've only had my cat for a month and it's a V6 auto. I can tell you it's great fun. My sis lives in york and from the south to York is now a pleasure to drive. Hope you have great fun in it.

Thanks for another reply Wizard. I have been reading about some of the mods people have done to their cars and tbh I havent a clue.
I just want to get in the car tomorrow and drive
I must admit, I have got to get the side repeater covers. It does seem to make a big difference to the appearance of the car.
have you got any modifications in mind?

Sorry Purr, bit late picking up on this topic.....welcome from me as well
can any one tell me which repeater cover colour do I get for a Silver Cougar? Is the smoked one best or do I go for the silver?
Are the amber bulbs included in the cost?

Hi purr,
I agree with madmale the smoked ones look best on the silver cougar. They are the same as the mondeo 96-00 and should cost about £20-25.
Purr.
Meeow.
Great name.
Enjoy.
Thanks for your replies.
Smoked ones it is then

Sorry to butt in but Garry, can you let me have your email address? The one I have does not work. You are missing out on Club info! PM me please. Thanks. Mike.
PS. oops I missed it. Side repeaters.
Consider plain with orange bulb, mask out a centre line on the length say 4 to 8mm wide, and spray the outer parts to whatever car paint colour you want.
Mine are painted to match the car, legal & visible, but makes the line more streamlined (to me anyway, but then I'm the one with the sleek 'go-faster' stripe on the upper side body contour !).

Nope... my husband is to blame for the surname and he is a motor sport fan.
He has gone to collect his new car today too.... A Rover 620Sli He went for a "practical" car
