Hey gang,
I replaced my bypass valve on sunday and like a retard I forgot to hook up my IAT. Not a big deal right? Well on my SC 3L system I take out timing based on Intake air temp so at 140 degrees I take X degrees, at 160 I take X+Y, etc. WELL I have been playing nice since sunday THANK GOD! When the IAT is unplugged it defaulted to -40 degrees temp! WOW I was running almost stock timing on about 5 pounds of boost! Thankfully it was cool (50 degrees) and I never heard a ping.
Let this be a lesson, TRIPLE CHECK CONNECTIONS AFTER MODS!
BTW all you IAT modders who use a resistor....just unplug it ;)
Just sharing my big sigh of relief. The only way I found it was I was playing with my TH mod and it fell out on top of the trans which only happens VERY RARELY pissed off I had to remove the filter and MAF, then my unplugged IAT was visible....I guess everything happens for a reason uh! WOW
PS I may have found my idle issue tonight!! The last two days my car has idled PERFECTLY again linking to the unplugged IAT and again only noticing because of the fallen TH cap! Still skeptical everything happens for a reason? WOW I think the car gods are saying this guy needs a break and are giving me some signs!!
I have a new chip coming and I'm praying that is my saviour. Maybe 42's will idle fine :)
