I just put together a shirt for Mass/Conn with my logo and the tribal logo that someone else designed here on the board .... I would give props but I cant remember who designed it. Anyways the shirt is listed here and is $0.50 over cost to off set the webspace I have been using up for the Mass/Conn pages on my site. Hope the person who designed the Tribal doesnt mind ... I liked the logo and still would like to see Mass/Conn use it some how. If there is a problem let me know.

I also have a fleece pull over that is all Bodies-N-Motion for only $21 on clearence

well aslong as I have been a member here and have not pushed to make a profit off of anyone .... I have silently helped out with everything I could and have hosted a set of pages that were asked for with out charging a penny for them. I put together a shirt that I thought was pretty cool after reworking a design and changing it from its raw form and fixxing the line problems with it. I puchase the shirts after they are printed for $16.99 from cafepress. I upcharge 51 whole cents and I tell you up front that I am making a profit of 51 cents off each shirt and I get this in my PM's

Dren if you plan on using my design to sell tshirts, I'd like part of the sale.

Otherwise I'll have to ask you to remove it, sorry.

JScullin

now I guess I could be an ass and say sure ... you front the stamps and I'll send you your cut off the shirts. figure one check per shirt at a whaping 25 and a half cents per and stamps cost what 37 cents so ... sure.

petty real petty puppy

by the way if I rework a design doesnt that become my intellectual property? doesnt that mean I can keep it on there .... I did rework the thing for an hour and a half so I could use it legally. then give props to the conceptual designer which I did. By the way bud who did you steal it from to begin with? wasnt it the Lone Star crew?

to prove the point that it isnt yours notice the hooks. and wasnt your copy black and grey scale? anybody know where to find an original copy of this tribal?

you have done nothing but try to mess with me since day one and the only thing that keeps you going is the fact that you have nothing better to do than try to pull BS. you got nothing on me and that bugs you. my business practices are legit and that bugs you. you want half of 51 cents come up with your own concept. stop being lazy and trying to pull off the wonder game

if there are any problems let's try to keep this to PM's only. otherwise, i can see this possibly getting out of hand which in turn will lead to locking this thread. thanks.

I sent you a PM for a reason, and was fairly polite in it. I'll say what I have to say and I'll be done with this thread. Anything else can be taken back to PM's...

About the designs origin. I haven't seen the Lonestar tribal one, only Lonestar logo I've seen is a cougar with a star type sherrif badge design. I think it was either Furious1 or CougarDemon who posted the tribal image they wanted to see incorporated into the logo. I originally designed it exactly as that design & posted it. Everyone liked it, I then changed it a couple times to make it "more our own" as I recall putting it, so I wouldn't be stealing someones design. Everyone liked that as well and it has stayed that way. In my animation class in college we were told that if you make 8 distinct, obvious changes to something you have legally changed it for your own use. You simply outlining it in red doesn't make it your original.

So here is the Mass/Conn logo I made (bottom) and Dren's (top). For those of you playing at home, point out 8, or any changes other than a red outline.

http://www.skolenimation.com/misc/Mass-Conn_design.jpg

The top design (what dren used) is an older version of one of the concepts.

About you giving credit to the designer, a name or link to my site would've been suffice. I probably would've agreed to that and let you keep the .50 cents! Which btw, I didn't know it was only 50 cents, because I had to find that out here instead of PM. This honestly could've been resolved in under 5 PM's without drama.

I don't recall ever trying to "mess" with you or ruin your buisness practices. I've come to you with questions reguarding fixing my rims, finding new rims & tires with no problems. You answered my questions fine. The only thing I think think of you referring too off the top of my head is your group buy for exhausts. You had a photo of a Cougar on a lift with a dual exhaust. The same photo Yodude/Trubendz had posted a few years back when he first came here to promote his exhaust line-up. And IIRC it's a members car, maybe not a current or active member, but I and others were under the full impression that photo was taken from Josh's shop when test-fitting exhausts. It's on his website in his photo gallery still.

I have acted in a relative calm & professional manner through these, and only these, annoyances I've had with you. I don't recall saying anything, I just let them slide.

1: I offer to design & host (for free) the Mass/Conn site. I just needed someone to program it since I don't know how. Soon after you pop in asking for photos for your Mass/Conn site, which isn't really a "Mass/Conn" site because you have to dig though the worst Java programming to find it. And even then it wont' display properly.

2: I one day throw up some ideas I had for the Mass/Conn logo. Other people submitted theres & we posted ideas on what it should look like. After a few attempts the 3 versions I created were done. Again from left field, here you come with your own logos which your already hocking & selling for $20. Which, honestly, are just text & the Cougar head. I think people would want something more distinct. But since it was your own design I really didn't care, only thing that irked me is people would have 15 different Mass/Conn logos on their car and it would look sloppy. And to add as why the logos' are taking forever to print is because instead of charging $20 I'm trying to get them under $10 by going through my g/f's sign shop. And it needs to be done when the printer is free and they are not overwhelmed (which is any day now thank god.)

3: The use of the Mass/Conn logo...I designed it for Mass/Conn. I did not give it to anyone or the club in general. I have no problem with it's use so long as I'm told about it. But I don't want someone to profit off it. Had I not done that what was to stop you or anyone from just deleted "Mass/Conn" and putting these on Ebay? I know how cheap vinyl goes for, it would be a nice profit. But since I'm not asking for anything in return for even spending the time designing the logo why should someone else make money off it?

There's more I want to say but I'm just getting more & more pissed as I type this I don't want to deal with it.

Final thing is, you could've avoided all this by just replying in your PM:

"John, I forgot it was you I'll change the post. I'm only making .50 off the shirts, if you want I can link your website on the page."

Btw...since I can't sleep....here's a screen grab of the oldest version I saved. Before redoing it in Illustrator:

http://www.skolenimation.com/misc/JS-ScreenGrab.jpg

So to compare that version to Dren's, he added the outline & (and I'm giving him this since I can't find an older one) incorporated the middle design into the Cougar head.

First and most important..........THIS SHOULD BE HANDLED PRIVATELY IN PM'S.

Secondly. the original design was made by Ron, Ivo and myself. The tribal design is on Ivo's back, right shoulder.

I don't have time right now to properly decide what to do with this thread. I guess I'll ponder on it at work and do something about it when I get home after conversing with Vod.

Keep it clean........please.

Sorry Vod.....one more thing tho.

A few times now, there have been times when one member bashes another or starts a flame war that can be dealt with privately, instead of in public view, just to embarrass or belittle another person.
THIS WILL NO LONGER BE TOLERATED.....in the future think before you write something rude, arrogent or demeaning of another. Yes it is a free world......but Mass/Conn usually runs great. We are a tight bunch that looks out for one another and would strip skin from our backs to help someone else out.

Violaters will be dealt with harshly. Take it to PM's please.

Thanks for your cooperation. And keep smiling.....this is only a peacekeeper, keeping the peace.

With much respect,
Ann
