Hi guys

i have had my cougar for a yaer & half now i drive from the north of uk to lodon every week &back
i have seen quite afew cougars on the way but never a RED one

is there any red cougars in the uk ??????????

no only colours for the uk(as i am aware) were black,melina blue,silver and a mettalic green was a cost( i think) option.stacey has a strange grey/green colour that she bought over from the states with her.the american market had a lot of colour options red being one of them.

There are several kinda cherry metalic coug's near me but they're all from the Yankee air base.

I think you're right green was an extra cost on the phase 1's but for the phase 2's it replaced one of the other 3 colours as a standard colour (I think!!)

OK Colours available were as follows

Cougar 1 Silver Frost, Ebony Black, Melina Blue. Tourmaline Green which replaced Melina Blue

Cougar 2 Silver Frost, Ebony Black and Amazon Green

From a country renouned for sports cars I'm surprised Red wasn't an option.

Rio Red is one of the best colors for the Cougar.

The Red Cougar on the UKCougar site is a Cougar 2 so that colour must have also been an option. As there were only something like 445 Cougar 2s sold in the UK, it must be pretty rare.

What is the diffrence between the cougar 1 & the cougar 2 then iam i a luck one to have the cougar 2 if thats
what i have .

all i know is that i bought it second hand & they said it was aspecial order ..

there is a green mk2 coug by me see it every morning since last week its all nice an shiney!! looks brand new old stock do you think?

if yours has silver headlights rather than black then its a mk2

Main differences:
Different wheels
Different seats
White dials
Silver trims on dash
Different front airdam
Steering wheel that doesn't look like it has come straight out of a Mondeo

The Laser Tint Red Cougar 2 you see on the club website was imported by a dealer who spotted it while abroad, I think it may have been destined for the Australia market as they also got the full choice of colours and the member that owns it did tell me that everything was in KMH which also hints at the Australia market.

UK Cougars were only officially available in the colours i have listed previously

The UK was the only market that did not get the full colour choice.
