Why is my Cougar so Ghetto?!?!

Okay, I love my cat, but there's so much about it I hate. I feel like I should get it out of my system. I don't know why, maybe because I am a perfectionist, but all the little things bother the **** out of me. Example one: my cabin light is super ghetto. Everybody else has fancy spot lights, with a computer, but not me. Nooooo, I have a plain rectangular light, that doesn't even fit right. Example two: center council. Yes that pisses me off a lot too. You guys have fancy arm rest center council with little compartments where you can store ****, but not me. I have a bucket looking thing. No arm rest, nothing. Example three: Okay traction, not a big deal to me, but how come I dont have it? My gauges have the light bulb for it, and the cables seem to be connected to the place where the traction button is on other cougars, but the button on my cat is not there. Nope, I just have a button look-alike thing, that doesn't press. There are probably more little things I haven't noticed yet, and maybe that's for the better.

Sounds like you didn't get the sport or convenience packages on your cougar.

I think it was the convenience package that would give you the advanced upper console. Unfortunately, unless you bought your cougar with it, I don't believe it is possible to buy and install what you need to make those lights work for you. However, I'm sure you could purchase the advanced console with the spot lights and all but the warning lights would work for you.

Traction control was a package you could purchase extra for the cougar... if your cougar didn't have that package installed by the factory, then it just doesn't have it. The light is still on your gauges though because all cougars use the same gauges regardless of if they all have the same packages.

Now the only good news I got for ya is that if you want a new console... all you have to do is buy one. Again the center console is like the one you have because your cougar didn't have the convenience package (maybe the sport one, can't remember what had what), but if you'd like to have the center console with all the goodies, you'll need to order the 2001-2002 console, its the one with the coin holder, the non-spilling cup holder, and the multi compartment arm rest. I know you can get it from Ford Parts online, but I don't remember all the part numbers... so if anyone else knows, they need to post it to help Greg out. :)

I will be putting something else in place of where that upper console is later :) and reagans right, you can just buy a new center console.

if you wanted to redo the top of your cougar to have the cool upper console, anythings possible, may not be plug n play, but it's doable

Oh shi... that computer console isn't stock? It's so worthless. All I know is it tells me to get a check-up every 3,000 miles with the wrench light, and every 3,000 miles I get rid of the light with the combo to get rid of it on the thing. (kind of like contra 99 lives, up up down down left right left right b a b a select start (select for two players))

I have a 2000, everything but: TC, sunroof, side airbags.

I have the coin holder(which turns all my coins into brown globs, theres goopy **** in it which makes my coins poop-coins or something) and crap... so do I have the cup spiller? My cups always fall out. (and the holder inside the lil' lift up thing is worthless.)

Thanks everyone for input. I feel a little better now knowing that I can actually change some of the stuff. If you guys know where a poor college student can order some cheap cougar parts holla at me. It would be much appreciated.
