Where's the build date on my cat..?.......

:confused: Can anyone advise my on three things,?...
1.When trying to order a part at fords my chasis number or reg would'nt register with fords computer,is this a worry for me.?
2.due to this matter i dont know where to find the build year of my cat , is is located on the car anywhere?..
3. if a part is discontinued,will the replaced part still fit ?.........

Your build date is on the drivers side door (left side for us yanks).

On Euro Cougars we do not have the build date etc on the drivers door, the only way is to get your dealer to check your VIN Code or have a look at the engine block on the front cylinder bank there should be a bar code which also has the engine build date on it, this is a very good indication of when the car was made.

When your Ford Dealer enters your VIN into Oasis (the Ford computer system) they should be able to tell you everything about your car.
