juddering when accelerating

Please help a small mouse!

my 2L cougar has started juddering (misfiring) when i accelerate (oh that acceleration ) (bare with me V6 owners)!!!!
It idles fine and drives at a constant speed ok - but goes bananas with I press down on the loud pedal.

the american bits of this forum moan about dodgy ford fuel pumps as a cause of these problems - but the bloke up my ford garage reckoned that fuel pumps weren't a prob on UK cougars.

Anyone go any clues

hey mouse check out the intermittent probs thread it is most likely spark plugs everyone just automatically blames fuel pump mine turned out to be a plug in the end.

Hi mouse, I posted up the intermittent probs. Had a similar prob with my V6. I got the plugs changed yesterday. Only tested the car slightly today on the way to work but everything seems OK. Think I will also change the HT leads - there not that expensive (would assume even cheaper for you) so well worth a look at!
