underbody Neons in OHIO "legal or not"?

Hey Ohio chapter, i am planning on making a road trip tomorrow to ohio and i was trying to figure out if it is or isn't illegal to run with neon's on at night in your state. I am coming from Ill and i belong to the IL NECO. If anyone knows the answer to this please right back ASAP. Thanks

I see enough of them driving down the street to think that they're legal.
I believe that red lights tho may not be.

I called the cops on this one before I installed mine 2 yrs ago. They said if they are red or blue they are illegal to drive with. Also I heard if you can see the bulbs they are but the police just told me if they are red or blue....... Hope that helps. And like janelle said I see them all, all the time.

i posed this question to my local post of the state highway patrol quite a while back.... they never singled out any specific color....but said they are legal as long as

1. they don't blink...rotate...oscilate..or flash...

2. they directly strike the pavement...

3. they aren't over a certain wattage....( i can't remember the number on that)

of course every individual town is gonna have their own rules about that stuff...around here though...it's never pressed....unless copwise you come across a bored prick... or a village cop who has nothing better to do....:kick:

Thanks for all the info. that is what i was wondering, now hopefully i don't get a crappy cop that had a bad night and just wants to pull people over for anything.

This was from a young officer who wanted my jock as I rode in the back of her car (uh...driving under suspension:cover: )- Anyway, she said any color, even BLUE is fine. The only thing you cant have is RED projecting from the front of the vehicle- so basically no red neon in your front grill work though it CAN be under the car in the front. She said she supposed that red LED washer nozzle thingys are illegal too. Sounds like a territorial thing to me; If you get pulled over just go ahead and fight it in court...unless you are from really far away. The highway patrol list posted here is prolly a safe bet too.

No- no hitting. The officer was not exactly attractive. Nice but NOT attractive;) I see the A-hole every night at work actually and sometimes fuel his truck...talk about tempted to do something to his vehicle! The UPS truck that is (Semi- whatever). Maybe I can **** in his cab and he'd have to deal with it all night for 8-11 hours :thumbsup: I keep an eye on him- I am always around when he arrives to keep an eye on the coug. If he so much as looks at my car again I'll take him out.
