Well I'm finally able to do it. Ive torn down my atx and Im presently rebuilding it. Heres the deal, the tranny is being painstakeingly rebuilt COMPLETELY. All new "soft" parts like bearings, busings, seals, gaskets, clutches. Ive called around and the tranny goes for $1700 ANYWHERE you look, rebuilt of course. You cant even get a brand new one to my knowlege. Anyway. Im going to offer the tranny in that configuration for $1200+$500 core charge. Now... heres where the opertunity lies. I will add hop up parts at your option.... I have a phantom grip LSD upgrade for $500~perhaps less, Ill add the Level 10 tourque converter for COST from them, Ill add the transgo kit for $50, and the Level 10 Valve body for COST provided I dont have to do anything besides install it the same way as the stock item. A VERY high end cooler kit is available for ~$250 perhaps less... all stainless steel lines and aeroquip fittings. IF you can find anything else you'd like done to it let me know and I will do it.

NOTES:
1: These prices for the upgrades are BALLPARK. The tranny alone price is set in stone but i may barter a bit LOWER. The options may deviate by the time you actually agree to do this. I will set the price in stone for you when you actually agree to buy this and have the work done.

2: You pay shipping too. Ill crate it up and drop it off anywhere in the Detroit area you have set up to haul it. The tranny weighs about 200lbs and ups will NOT ship it. If you cant find a shipper I will find one but you will pay me 100% of the actual costs of shipping plus a small fee for my time. This too will be set in stone prior to any final agreement.

3: I WILL install this for you too. I will not come to you, you must come to me. I live in the metro Detroit area and will be happy to do the work here. I guarantee any car ariveing at 9am Saterday morning will leave that evening unless somthing out of my control happens like a part falling apart on removal. The price for an install shall be $600 plus parts/fluids. This way you save BIG on shipping.. its really somthing to consider even if you live a good distence away. Not only do you not have to pay for the tranny to be shipped to you... but you dont have to ship the core back!!!! It will simply stay at my garage. If I had to guess you will probably save more then $250 in shipping to do it this way. A local 3 star hotel room for one night is only $79 add meals and gas and you will probably find a little road trip is a good idea. Not to mention I doubt you will find a better labor rate....

4: I WILL guarantee the work. I will guarntee it will work when you get it and for a reasonable amount of time like 500 miles. I will NOT fix any tranny that has been abused or exposed to a power adder of any kind. My guarantee is limited to my quality of workmanship. If somthing inside breaks just because it broke... I will not fix that. If however somthing lets go or breaks because I made mistake in workmanship, I will fix that. This will be limited to the parts and labor on the tranny ONLY. I will not cover installation or removal. I will be happy to do the install removal myself at a VERY VERY discounted rate though.

5: I will need a deposit. Im sorry but I cant afford to front for all these upgrades if you want them. I will need a 100% deposit on all upgrade items. Also, I will NOT ship the tranny until EVERYTHING has been paid up front. Paypal, cashieres check, money orders or cash ONLY Personal checks will NOT be accepted from anyone for any reason.

6: Trust. Why should you trust me with all that money. Well... thats up to you but... All the members of MC-NECO will vouch for me. They all know where I live and work and i JUST bought a house last month. Im not going anywhere... im not running off with your money... im not going to screw ANYONE. PuckPuck will vouch for me.... Im on Leo Capaldi's race team... they both know where to find me and trusts me with thier property. You have absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to this transaction.

7: Heres the deal. Serious buyers only... im not going to ansewer 100 questions about this by guys with 10 bux in the bank. Youve seen the cost if thats not for you right now then please wait until you are ready to buy to ask me and I will gladly respond. I will sell to the first person who has a 100% set in stone agreement on price/configuration with me and a deposit check in my hand.

Level 10 can kiss my butt.... Im going to make decent money and these prices are far lower then they want.... if anyone figures out what level 10 is doing to these peices they are selling then my prices would be even lower.

Just thought I'd share that little nugget on price of the tranny itself. Ebay is $800-$900 for it....and I've known junkyards to go less, but that takes some haggling :)

Does sound nice.....but if were gonna be fair about pricing, I should let ya know where a "cheaper" tranny can be found.

How much will you resell the level10 valve body and converter for?? Will you sell any clutches?? I would possibly be willing to buy some parts from you but would rather not buy new tranny to have it rebuilt. So the core charge we get back when we give our old tranny to you?? I am unclear on how this works. Also, no offense but if somebody would release the details on the level10 work instead of trying to make money off of it then all atxers would be better off. Seems like lately everybody is trying to find a way to make money off of us Atxers.

i got a tranny from a 2001 couger with 2k miles on it, ill be putting it in my 97 contour soon. is there anything i can buy from you that i could easily do to my tranny (like torque convertor etc.) that would help it out. its already getting a shift kit, inline filter, and the biggest tranny cooler i can fit

Okay okay... I realize now i messed up on that thinking. Im comming up with an updated price structure.

Its important to remember that this transmission will be COMPLETELY rebuilt... not some hack back together that lasts 20,000 and blows up again. Anyways... Im building a website on this topic.... Ill post again when its time.

Would you be able to put together a wider range of products?? Maybe stage1, stage2, stage3?? I think you may make out better if you do this because I am sure I am not the only one who would rather have a decent rebuild + a little instead of going full throttle with it. Your services seem awesome. Keep up the good work and let us know how your old ATX performs when you finally get to put it into a cougar.

If i am going to rebuild my tranny with performance in mind....i wouldnt want just a rebuild plus a little extra........i'd want it all or nothing....just kinda silly in a labor perspective :)

Can you explain the benefits from adding these things to a tranny. I am not to knowledged in the area. But none the less i have a atx and want it better than it is. What would the tourque converter be set at.
