View Full Version : Cougar BOY??
Guys,
I was hoping you could confirm something for me, Ive been smoking around in my Cougar for 5 months now, and ive seen a few fellow Cougar's on the road, and even given them a flash. My query is this, every driver I see is middle aged, I havent seen anyone my age.
So I was hoping to get a quick pole, and find out if I am the youngest Cougar owner, I know the Cougar was aimed at the maturer driver, but it has always appealed to me.
So I am 25, how old are you???

34 - The Cougar wouldn't have suited me when I was a 20 something boy racer, with a series of hot hatches and driving like a maniac.

Well I'm 30 and due to company cars had no choice over the last 5 years.
But my first car was a Renault 9 GTS alloys and bucket seats as standard spec.

Average so far is 31.6 years !
Well its good to see there are some young uns out there.
Altho since I've had the cat, a loads of people tell they have seen a silver cougar here and a blue cougar there.
Damm!...this is worrying.. I'm 41.... perhaps there should be a senior chapter to this club!!...for a couple of us!
Also an observation I noticed is that the majority of cougar drivers around huntingdon seem to be female!! ....custom_images/emoticons/shocked.gif
Any-one for a meet around Huntingdon !
Now you know the female cougar owners are going to be female.
The single's go for Puma's, so hands up for a joint meet????

There are a few more lady owners further up the coast line too.
I'd be up for a meet too.
Does anyone know if any of these lady owners read from this forum? I know for a fact that I have posted the flyer on several female owners cars. Be good to get some more of a mix on opinions and views.

I am 18... female... and single.... I LOVE my cat. In Alabama alot of younger people have cougars... i pass several everyday. The only sad thing is... it is just a way to get around to them... they don't appreciate the car. It is just wrong!!!

well round by me most cat owners are middle aged men or women who dont give a cr*p that they are driving round in one its just a company car to them!
stacey i think what kief was trying to say is that the cougar unlike the puma appeals to more sophisticated(slighty more mature?:takecover;) women who are generally married(at least around me anyway)where as the puma for the most part are driven by younger women(because it is more affordable and easier to insure) for the most part the cougar does not SEEM to appeal to single women around by me and most of them are buisness women. that is only my observations not my opinion of women by the way.
Madmale got it right on the money, it is a fact tho, Bam Bam on Kiss 100 fm said it a little while ago, Hot Girls drive Corsa's, Polo's and Golf's and the classic 206cc.
But if there is anyone in the Kent area, give me a shout!

I think I might have won this one in the British Isles. The only thing I have won in my life and it is how old you are. 59 now 60 at xmas. Had all sorts of daft cars Loved them at the time like Ford Capri's, Mini's MGB's etc.etc.etc I flash most Cougars but they always give you a blank look except for one when I was in Gravesend. Quite happy with my cat which makes a pleasant change for me. So if you see me around, don't think you will miss me if you look at the number plate it spells C8UGR, give me a FLASH!

Sorry all, caught this one late:banhim:
I, by the way am 33. And i agree most drivers in my area(Louth, Skegness, Lincoln, Grimsby) are all over 45, so it makes me feel young when driving the Cat. I was starting to think i bought an old mans car:cover:, and was then really pleased to see someone around my age in a cougar, havn't managed to recruit him yet! we always pass each other doing about 70mph, making handing out flyers a bit hazzardous.

We had a scooby meet in Skegness the other week! what a waste of time that one was. On the way to Skeg we met up with about 12 scooby's and rode the last 6 miles in convoy, then reached the car park ( £3.50 to park) then without saying a word they all just left their cars and went their seperate ways!!!!! strange lot them subaru drivers................Gav.

was doing a search and came across this thread...thought i would add my knowledge from over here in "the states"
there are a LOT of people that are 17-22 driving cougars here. mostly guys. there are also a lot of women in their mid 20's to around 40 or so i would guess. that is the market mercury actually intended to attract witht hte cougar..the women int hat age group.
I am 31 and wind up hanging out with a lot of people younger than me from NECO..helps me stay young i guess!! also i am quite immature so it works out great!! we also have a woman who doea autocrossing here in Florida and she is 45 i think. there are others around the states that are in their 30's also...so you are not the only one bloke!!

Sorry that we can't meet up but thanks for the reminder on the fuel. Don't forget the bus pass - just in case! See you at Interford ?

Hi! Wessa
Yes you may have seen me flash by. Amazon Green Vougar may have been on my way to Gravesend the scenic way. Once I get in this little s**t I don't want to get out of it. So I go the long way everywhere.
Had a decent sized Tax rebate and decided to invest it in a number plate, the value will only go up not down and believe it or not it has made £25 since I bought it in April. Bought over the internet for £538 no more to pay all you have to do is take it to the PO and get it changed over. National Number Plates is one website and the other one is DVLA.
You can more or less make your own number plate up now.
