The SCCNH has another autocross coming up Sunday, June 8th. Was wondering if anyone else was interested in going/competing? It's a small group - usually under 30 cars (last Sunday with the crappy weather only had 16), with the main emphasis on having fun. $35 entry fee usually gets you 6 official runs. Watching is free. They're held in the parking lot at NHIS - less than an hour from the MA/NH border.

Directions and time? I may go to watch. (never been to one, want to watch first, THEN compete)

autocrosses are awesome to watch, especially if there's a variety of cars competing.
and I spose if I had an extra set of tires, I'd even do it now and then.
I may also consider checking this out.
edit: found the website/schedule:

If you decide to head up to watch, let me know. I'll meet up somewhere ahead of time.
The other reason I cant do this is I am still on borrowed tires.. If I get my new ones in, I MAY just try it hehehe.
(or if john says go ahead and run on em hehehe)

All 4 of those tires on the 16's cost me $35 total :) You can burn em off if you want, so long as you replace them with used (read non-autocrossed) ones.
But they're not made for anything fancy, you'd probably roll a sidewall on em.

35 bucks, eh? dang.. good deal. Last time I washed the car I cleaned the rims/tires really well. they came out nice ;)
And now back to our regularly scheduled autocrossing thread...

just talked to the other half.
sounds like we're gonna check this out, as spectators, but we'll be there.
Depending on who else decides to go, we can arrange meet up somewhere along the way.
I'm located 20 minutes south of Loudon off of 93N, which is the highway most of you will probably take to get up there.

it is much too far of a drive for me though :) during the summer there's one around here every other weekend.

Jay,
Driver registration & tech starts at 8 am with the first car starting about 10 -- usually things are wrapped up about 4 pm.
NHIS is located in Loudon, NH on Rt.106, approximately 10 miles north of Concord, NH. From the south, take I-93 to exit 15E (I-393). Take Exit #3. Turn onto Rt. 106 North. NHIS will be 10 miles north on the right.
The Northeast Region of SCCA (NERSCCA) has quite a few events down here - mainly at Devons -- but has a much larger group...last event was about 170 participants. With the smaller group up there, it'd be easier for us Cougars to be the most represented car there...instead of the Saturns, Neons & Miatas. You can see most anything there competing from Porsche, BMW, S2000, Mustang, Camaro to a Toyota pickup, Chevy S-10 Blazer and most anything in between.
Depending on what you have for tires, you can compete without trashing them -- I did 2 events last fall & one earlier this year with the stock Firestones and still got 48,000 miles out of them (except for one that a pothole claimed Christmas day).
I was planning on going up Sat night to stay near the track at my sister's, but if people are interested in going up together, I'll wait to meet up with you Sunday morning -- since I haven't been able to make it to any of the meets, it'll be nice to finally meet you in person.

If anyone is interested in participating, but doesn't want to kill their tires, I have my old ones still mounted that you could borrow for the front (the back doesn't really get the abuse the front does).....they're not great, but as long as it's dry, they'd work well enough to give it a try.

we found out this past weekend that bike week starts this saturday, but since the weather will be crappy, he may opt for sunday.
so we're conflicted as to which we want to go to.
I'm not even sure if I want to go to bike week this weekend, and am wondering if he'd prefer it if he didn't have to drive with my fat ass sitting behind him on the bike.
so perhaps I'll attend the autocross el solo.
it's looking like this may end up being a last minute decision for us.

Kim,
Jay & I are meeting up at Pheasant Lane Mall and coming up from there - if you'd like we can meet up with you along the way, or we'll catch ya there (if you are able to make it in the end).
