I have done most everything by the how-to. I used a peice of heater hose to connect the EGR tube to the EGR solenoid, but after 10 minutes of driving I could smell it cooking. And sure enough, I could crumble it in my hand. My next idea was to use stainless steel braided hose. This worked for a day or two. When I thought it was durable enough to go ahead and adjust my air/fuel ratio, the inside lining melted and seeped out through the braid at high rpm. I have almost run out of ideas. I know hardware stores sell assortments of copper tubing, but I am not sure it is will be thick to withstand the heat and thin enough to bend by hand, or how to connect them. Solder, flux and a torch would probably come undone with the amount of heat it would be exposed to. All I know to do is connect the tubes with couplings and crimp them. Does anyone else have any ideas or experiencing this same problem? Thanks in advance.

hmmmm... I've never had this problem.

Could I ask what color the heater hose was? If it was black that's your problem. You need to get the red ones. I'm not exactly sure what the diff is, however I was told the red colored ones is the one you want.

If that's still not good enough, copper tubing, a tube bender (like 10$ at any auto/home depot), and compression fittings (no need to fool around with torch and solder). For added flexibility, they also sell flex pipe in the plumbing area of home depot made out of some kind of metal, which can also use compression fittings and/or solder to be held together.

You're right, I used black. I was unaware that there was a red heater hose on the market. I will have to check and see where I can get this. Thanks.
