View Full Version : Has anyone gotten a ticket from a state trooper?

I got one yesterday, 72 in a 45 and not having my most recent insurance card with me. Total cost of the ticket is $364! The officer told me that I could present proof of insurance in court, but I am more worried about the moving violation. When ticketed by a trooper, do I still get the option of traffic school if I appear in court? I don't need a ticket like that on my record right now.

Man, that sucks. I got my first ticket from a Kentucky State Trooper and I was able to take community service. But i was also 17 and it was my first ticket so i still had the option. Im not really sure if its an option but I can find out for you. I will ask my dad the next time I talk to him. He should know since he works in Frankfort for KMVE. I will get back to ya.
*edit* Sorry, wasnt thinking. You should be able to take traffic school i believe, but thats only if you havent been within a year of this ticket. I will still check though.

I just got ANOTHER ticket today from a trooper....Good thing it was in Bedford County though...I work in the court house there so...they get taken care of.
HOWEVER -
I have 3 i havent shown up to court for....in the nashville/murf area....i tend to do about 110 on I-24 trying to get to school in a hurry.
Gotta call those circuit offices before they send my papers in and have my license suspended.

I got the no proof of insurance dropped. The speeding ticket was $171 with no option of traffic school since I was going over 20mph above the limit.

I average about 80-90 MPH on the freeway..... Not one ticket and I've been driving since August 2002.... I have a radar:-)))))))

well thats not too bad.. i got a 73 in a 45 work zone yesterday.. now thats a *****...
double fine and everything.. plus i gotta pay court cost.. i face possible jail time adn suspended license.. lol
but i dont care .. i got in floyd county and my uncle is the judge of pike county which is the next door county.. just pissed me off.. the whole time i was gettin the ticket the cop talked pure shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit to me.. i just smiled at him like i didnt care a bit.. lol
