Guys,

Was just contemplating removing the heat / noise bonnet lining to increase the engine noise. A couple of questions however to anyone that has done this or read another thread on it

~Does this risk damaging the paint on the bonnet due to the higher temperatures?

~Does the engine sound TOO loud?

Cheers,

Stu.

I've done it to mine and it does sound louder but it's not that bad. You will however notice a lot more heat coming off the engine but I haven't had any problems with this. If anything it allows the engine to breath a bit better. Do it mate, looks better at shows when the bonnet is up as well.

You can get mirrored foil for lining the underside of your bonnet, will look cool if your engine is clean.

 Seen it done and it does look good if it's been fitted well but I have to say that I have seen a few cars that have tried it and it looks shocking due to it being applied badly.

Mine doesn't have (never had) a lining in the bonnet- I don't know if any of the American ones do.
I've never had a problem with excess heat or noise.

I took mine off and had no problems, the stuff is mank anyhows and without it makes for a much more appealing bay when clean.

Did this at the weekend and it has improved the sound.

Cheers peeps,
