Well its done! The starters in and the car actually turns over without any problems.
It was a b*tc* to get out and put the new one in. Listed below is the way I removed and installed
1. Disconnect battery (Actually helps if you remove it completely cause it gives more room)
2. Disconnect and remove the air filter and the mount that it sits on (it sets atop the motor mount)
3. Drain Radior/ Block at this time it is best to disconnect lines from the block (warning you will be sprayed with coolent)
4. Disconnect the shift cable
5. Disconnect 3 sensors (they are all connected by one wiring harns, helps to remove cause the old starter gets hung up on it)
6. I saw no need to disconnect the fuel lines. It would of been to much of a hassel so I worked around it.
7. Now remove the bolts from starter and you are good to go!
Overall time: 4 hours
Cost: 221.64$ (including core charge of 40$ from Advance auto)
Spending Quality time with your car, Father and Brother: Priceless
P.S. There will be alot of cursing involved.
I also replaced the Speed Turbine Sensor on my car. Oh boy this thing was rotten. I pulled the sucker out and it snapped right off in the hole. The plastic piece where the sensor connects to busted off in my hand leaving the metal piece still in there. No prob.. dad took the drill to it and slowly.. i mean slowly yanked the sucker out. The new sensor was also a prob to get in.. the little rubber ring wouldnt budge.. but thanks to my gramps putting some grease on it slid right in! ;)
Had an accident with the oil filter.. wouldnt come off.. I guess I tugged to hard and off it came with a gush of oil right on top of my head.. Ok I go now.. I definatly need a bath..
Later Dayz
P.S. Sorry for waking you up Slade.
