without any "get a mtx" comments, can anyone sumise if the 5 speed atx from the 6 would bolt up to our engines?

It would bolt to the engine outside of the car. The mazda6 atx has the same drivetrain loss as our cd4e-it wouldn't even be worth it except a shorter overdrive ratio.

is the maxda6 5gearATX tranny also know for being notrously dog slow when shifting?

Is the overdrive ratio the only difference? I would kind of think that it would make all the gears shorter, which would help us get that much closer to the MTX-75 performance wise.
