 well I went to Norwalk with my Pops and the car ran consitant 15.5's
at 92mph for those of you unfamilar with the 1/4 mile that a fast trap
for the slow of time so basically it's saying mucho spin off the line or bad launches.
I have wheel hop so that's why....and no feathering the clutch doesn't seem to help.
Anyway I need pratice but I looked like a GOD considering all the other cars in
Sport Compact were running 16's 17's and 18's. So we leave the track my Dad is driving
behind me and I come over a small hill doing about 50 in a 55 (I drive very slow ask Jason)
and I suddenly see a Very large road kill I hit my brakes but there isn't room to swerve
because it's right in the middle of the DAMN road and there are two semis on in the other
lane coming at me. So the front end gobbled up the large critter. I was beyond mad I don't
think anyone beside my Dad has even seen me that mad. There was a near by farm house that
actually evacuated when I stepped from my once gorgeous car and unleashed the most horrific
15minutes of profanity this earth has ever heard. It smashe my front up pretty well. I talked
to my bodyshot guy (Duyane) and he's sure he can fix it. It's not as bad as I make it sound there
are no chunks missing but it's my baby she doesn't even see rain let alone @$%#!*$
Roadkill!!!!! Luckily (i'm not even sure I'm legally aloud to use that word) it didn't hit my oil cooler.
Then I drove home and raced a Eclipse on the way (read in road tales).

What was you 60' time? That is key as to how your launching.
To bad about your car. Think of it this way, if your car was any lower you might have scooped that dead critter up and he might have taken the high road all over the top of your car, and that would have been worse yet.

Jeff my best 60 last night was a 2.436 at 15.570
my best ever was a 2.319 with a 9.912 1/8 and a 15.3 1/4
highest trap last night or ever was a 92mph with a 15.503 and a 2.566 60'
just to clarify I wasn't being sarcastic or rude to John with the
"God wont give you more then you can handle. "
remark I was just stating I've had alot added to my plate lately.

it'll all work out oh by the way
Jeff is your quad done? I think you were getting it powder coated? Cause I should have
my 240cc 2-stroke ready within a month Trinity Racing has the cylinder and head right now.
I'll let you know when it's done my friends would like to ride if you are down with it.

Mike, I m realllly sorry to hear that bro. One way to look at it, everyones alive besides the road kill. Be thankful about that, and also the damage could have been worse. I m glad you posted some times, cuz once I m done with all my mods hopefully this summer, I should be somewhere there, as long as youre gonna help me along with Brian and some other members get my car faster lol. Hope your body man can fix it for ya bro!
Take care!

John if you get all the mods I have and you are able to master the
elusive perfect launch out of our car I'm sure you'll dip into the 14's
unfortunatley people think it's alot easier than it really is. I've said this
many times in the Drag Strip area, I can launch perfectly on the street
and that's where my car really shines. But at the track no matter how
I launch I get wheel hop. (The track surface is very sticky) It's where
the front wheels actually hop up and down because your suspension
and the amount of traction are not compatable hehehehee.
Anyway anytime you need some help with the car let me know and I'll
see what I can do. Later

Thanks Mike, yea I had some serious Wheel Hop upon leaving Brians when I got some stuff done up there 2 weeks ago, it was wet out and some tool wanted to give it a run, I just toyed with him off the launch but then remembered the night before seeing all the cops. I decided not to go at it all out. Thanks though! Itll be very soon, I owe dad 300 which is 2/3 this paycheck, then its play time for all my paychecks for May and June, then July and August go towards college.

Yeah! I totally forgot you had a Blaster.:banghead: Heck ya I'm down with riding, especially if it's some place new. I'm going Sun., don't know were yet. I've only been out 2 but it is done. It came out nice, I still have to do a set of A-arms but thats it. I'll have to post a picture when I get home.

That 60' time does seem slow, Have you tried changing tire pressures to help your launch? Are you using those bigger rims with not much side wall to drag with? If so I would recommend maybe getting some 15" rims that will give you a softer tire with more sidewall which may help.

Here is a picture of my Z400

very nice time man!
with more traction youll definately see lower 15s, possibly a high 14
i trapped at the same speed running a 15.3 spinning halfway through first in my MK8

Thanks Carmen yeah I was happy considering all the urethane and fiberglass
added to the car and full interior stuff like that 15.5's weren't to bad.
Jeff (your quad looks GREAT!!!) yeah the cylinder should be bored and head mods done within
the next two weeks I'm hoping. When I race I use my 15's
on the front with the stock tires. I bought 4 Toyo TS-1's but they get so
much traction it seems to make the wheel hop worse. I just used the stock
15's with stock tires because they made the front sit up higher (which obviously didn't
help that night). Anyway that was my first run this year I'm sure there will be
plenty more. By the way I knew wheel hop would be a problem when I got
this car so I added the Roush Springs, Urethane trans mount inserts and all
lower knuckles and control arms have been replaced.
