Anybody got one I could buy off of them?? Preferably in the buffalo / Rochester region (I live in Roch.). I know a couple people had SVT uppers at the Bob Evans meet last month. I would pick it up if you could just give me a price...

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,

Check the board, some of the guys are using the 3.0 UIM instead. And I heard it's cheaper.
I bought my 2.5 ST 200 UIM from B.A.T.

Good luck,
Jeremy

I haven't yet decided whether I want to do that yet. Maybe. It is weird for me because when I do the 3.0 conversion I am going to be getting a 3.0UIM with the 3L engine I buy. So, it seems worthless to buy one now. I am also unclear about the hood clearance issue. I have heard some people are damaging their hoods...

How is that mirror coming along?? Wish you would sell me yours :) You may sell the car anyways right!!! :)

The 2.5 upper gives you higher compression. I would make the efforts to get that myself.

No, the 2.5 heads give better compression. I don't think the UIM has anything to do with compression. I could be wrong though

hehe... :flushed:

my bad...

Is there a size difference in the intake between the 2.5 and 3.0?

Correct - it's the heads that affect compression, not the UIM.

I think the 3L UIM is a better overall design than the 2.5L UIM. I have one sitting around my apartment, just waiting to be installed. :) Supposingly, it's not a 100% direct bolt on - but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

go to the how-to section. Blackcoog wrote out an amazing how to that was added to, to fix the hood clearance issues. Also I have it in PM as he wrote it for me hehehe.

The 3.0L uim has superiour flow characteristics giving it the same gains as a svt UIM without needing to be modified. But yes some special work is needed in order to make it bolt up but the how to should help and make it next to monkey work.

Personally I'd get the 3.0L uim for alot less and see if you could have it honed all for the same price a SVT UIM is and it would be ALOT better then the SVT after being dual honed.

"superior flow charactoristics" . I think mainly it has larger runners and is a little smoother...

which adds to why it flows better

But seriously, the design is better as well and when Leo Capaldi flow benched it, it was as good if not better then a stock SVT UIM.
