so i'm putting on the tranny today, and i can't remember which sized bolts go in which holes, and which of them were unthreaded holes with bolts and nuts. the FSM CD really isn't doing much to help me, either... just "install the eight bellhousing bolts"

i figured i'd ask here, since there are plenty of people who have recently removed or installed a tranmission...

I haven't taken my powertrain apart yet- I was planning on doing it tonight if you can wait. I'll take pics.

they're reasonably long brass-colored ones.
mine had a nut and bolt in the hole right near the front trans mount.

oh, i know which ones are the tranny bolts... it's just there are 3 different lengths, some with threads all the way to the head, some without, etc..

but the tranny's on now... we figured out which is which by means of deductive logic. :)

If you posted a picture of the tranny and all the bolts I could figure it out but you got it so nevermind. :)

Um... you can preaty much see which ones go where. Look at the back side where the treads are and you can tell if they accept long ones or not. The two top are short as are all of the oil pan ones. There is a VERY long one in the front with a little do-dad to keep the head from spining. The rest just look at the depth of the thread side and hold the bolt up... process of elimination is how we've always done it... about 10 times too many im afraid.

that's pretty much exactly what we did
