is it better to get the stock computer reprogrammed, or get something like the weapon R ?
I want to get my rev limiter extended up to 7500RPMs after I get my DMD installed, as well as optimizing engine performance w/ premium gas..

i don't know what would be best here, but raising your rev limiter on stock cams, with secondary butterflies intact, and without some pretty good intakework would be pretty much useless. granted, i don't have the best intake setup in the whole world, but if you look at a dyno plot, our engines start to lose power pretty drastically around 6250, and you'd be making almost no power at 7500rpm.

I plan on doing some intake upgrades later this year, but I wasn't sure if it would be a bad idea to upgrade the computer before or after...
"Intake upgrades" don't warrant an increase rev limit- You do realize that the camshaft profiles are your limiting factors- They're not ground for power above 6750RPMs. You'd have to do a custom (or SVT) cam setup to actually have the engine do something above 7000RPMs. Just revving the engine more doesn't mean you're making more power! Horsepower is a function of torque and RPMs.. The torque curve falls off like a madman about 6800RPMs- Not even more revs can make up for that loss.
I would suggest more research before announcing you're increasing the rev limiter. Actions have consequences.

Forces within an engine go up with the SQUARE of the increase in rpm.... think about that for a minute and then tell me you want to bump your rev limiter. Learn to shift... in fact you should be shifting at around 6200...
Go buy an svt computer and have the dealer flash the PATS sequence into it... there ya go... 7000rpm limiter and 91 octane for life.
