Yesterday my check engine light turned on. Thought nothing of it since one of my mils is going bad. Well, my car is suffering. Above 3200 rpm, there is no power, and the engine sounds like it's struggling. I also smell a faint gasoline smell. I'm thinking IMRC. When the car is parked in either P or N, and I open the tb slowly to the rev limiter, the imrc lever does not move. Is there a safety or something that keeps the imrc closed unless the car is in D? I have absolutely no time to go get the pcm scanned. Is anyone available tomorrow around 7:30 to autotap my car? Thanks for your help boys.

ATX vehicles only open IMRC when in gear.....

Sounds ignition related. I had similar issues (a bit worse actually) with a bad coil pack and I've heard of bad sparkplugs giving similar symptoms.

Problem found using a scanner.
Code P1518 "insufficient airflow through fake hoodscoop"

Actually, it's "enhanced DTC", meaning that my secondaries are stuck.

There's another $100 out the door for maintenance. Bringing my total to over $1000 dollars in maintenance repairs this month alone. Cougarfest is gonna be tough to make this year the way my car is going.

Today I found out why it broke. The little plastic end that connects to the peg on the spring loaded lever broke. Sucks that I have to buy the entire package....
