how did you remove the lower air box ... the 2 bolts that have the rubber bushings, I can't get enough twist on it to remove the bolts, because the rubber keeps twisting..

no, I need to remove the bolt on the bracket below that holds the airbox.

the bracket for the new intake attaches there...

Clean the rubber really well and the metal with some sort of lacquer thinner or soemthing, maybe alcohol? But as for the bracket, I didnt use it, when I used it and tried to close the hood the intake was hitting it really bad, so i just left it off and it looks fine. Doesn't have that slopey look to it at all..

As far as the lower box connected to the rubber things......I put a socket and wrachet on there and keep twisting the rubber till the bolt loosened.....at first I was afraid of breaking the rubber mount - after awhile I got pissed and put some muscle into it - it came loose. As far as the bracket, I used mine because I wanted the intake stationary and not rubbing on the hood.

i just used a socket with a grip of extentions, The hard part is putting the intake brace on, just dont put the filter on till its all done. And about not even putting the brace. That was a prob for me. I tried it without and the intake fell off a few times cuz of the weight of the filter on the rubber gaskets. When it falls off your engine dies.

Mine just twisted off, and I don't have the bracket for the intake, that's where the control box for my ZEX nitrous is

Do you guys get a squeek sound from the intake when shifting hard?

That is probably the sound of the belts slipping because of the sudden change in torque when shifting hard.
I get that a lot.

yeah, that's belt squeel, I've been getting that quite a bit recently, but I'm replacing my belt and getting a DMD next week, so that should help
