View Full Version : Annoyance: Curling Floormats...

I replaced my previous stock set (w/Cougar heads) with the same thing off Ebay. My previous ones curled up under the pedals and same area on the passenger side and now the new ones are doing it too. I just put these in during the begining of Spring.

I took them out for a couple days and put them in the trunk under my sub. It flattened them out and now they're doing it again. It's getting to the point I'm considering glueing metal dowels underneath to keep them from curling.

Any reason for this?

I got the same set of mats from ebay, and mine haven't curled up yet, but the black backing on them is all cracked and coming off. I think they're just cheaply made stock mats (go figure). I'm considering dishing out for diamond plates to replace them, that way I won't have to worry about them anytime in the near future.

I used my stock mats for almost a year before I switched them out, and never had a problem... maybe the mats placed in 01-02 are different? Might be something to look at :)

Try laying them flat on concrete in the sun. That should flatten them.

Or better yet, try this. I did it and it really helped. Get them a little moist with water all over (maybe even add a little spray starch if your daring) then roll them tightly in the OPPOSITE direction they like to roll. Now put rubber bands around these rolled carpets and let them dry (bake) in a warm environment. Like inside your car on a hot day.
