( Proposal ) Can-Am II

I would like to propose a second Can-Am annual event in Downtown Windsor in mid August. I just want to see what kind of support / interest there would be in such an event before going through the effort of making full arangements. Here's my initial idea;

- Meeting up in Windsor at Jackson Park on a Saturday around 11:00 AM
- Cruising down Oullette avenue downtown and taking a drive down the riverfront with the Detroit skyline in the background and stopping at the peace fountain and then back down to the bridge park.
- cruising up to Malden Park for a park and display and BBQ
- hanging out till dusk for a little night-lite displaying for all of us with neons / lighting mods
- get a group rate at a hotel for crashers
- maybe a Sunday morning breakfast at a local restaurant for people who stick around that long
- head home

Give me some feelers and maybe we can get this a solid yearly get together to keep interests alive for NECO. This event is open to all NECO chapters, especially the closer chapters to get together and meet and get to know eachother as Windsor / Detroit area is a good middle meeting ground for 4 chapters, MC-Neco, Toronto Neco, Empire NECO and Ohio NECO.

I welcome local Windsor Neco members to help out if intersted in planning this like Mcon99, Puckpuck, Spocket.

btw, "Can-Am II" sounds.....weird. You would call it something else, right?

Well if it's only in Windsor, it's not realy Can-Am anymore... it's more just Can...

I like the idea myself... not sure what I can do in helping to organize... I will say this however...

If you come to Windsor... YOU MUST spend at least 1 friday or saturday night on the strip.

Windsor does have a few nice places for photo shoots, such as the numerous parking lots along the river, we may even be able to move a parking block over and get all the cars on the grass with the detroit skyline in the background.... heck maybe even park a couple of cars along riverside at the peace fountain, and at night when the fountain lights up get a few shots like that....

However I still want to see a caravan of Cougars go down Ouellette ave at 10pm on a Friday or Saturday night.... then we meet back downtown (without our cars) by 11pm for a night on the strip and thong voyeurism

in all seriousness though, i'd like to give another suggestion as well (not that thong voyeurism is not a good idea ;) )
i don't know if anyone else feels this way, but i think i'm almost cougar-ed out :(
I mean we have weekly meets in the toronto chapter, we have cougarfest, HCKC, Can-Am and the list goes on...
Basically, what i'm trying to say is that i'm getting bored of sitting around and looking at other cougars :tongue:
i mean i own one, i know what they look like, and now most people in the toronto chapter have the same kit as me (can't knock them for having good taste though :) )
now i also don't want anyone to take this the wrong way, because anyone that knows me knows that i am a social butterfly, and hangin out, partying, and chillin is what i do best :) but what i personally would like to see is some hardcore mod meets, and more trips to places like mosport (for example, we're thinking of organizing something for leo's next race at mid ohio).

Ajay....getting cougared out is one thing....but getting together is another. 55 cougs driving down the street in downtown indy draws WAY more attention than 2/3.

I agree, we have to do things, not necessarily all mod related, but just going out in masses is awesome. I didn't take a single pic at HCKC, but I damn sure came home with alot of memories and some new friends. Aswell as I had a GREAT time. I think more should be encouraged.

And remember....just because T.O. has monthly/weekly meets.....doesn't mean Ohio and M.C. Neco do....hell, I've only met 5-7 ppl fro M.C. Neco

i agree dan, which is why i will ALWAYS go to cougarfest, because that is an experience that you never forget....and like i said, it's not that i don't want to hang out with people because i do, i just want to hang out with a purpose :tongue:

not only will i spam you with info, i will also send you jpg images of a caldendar and highlight the date for you, plus send you a PM everyday for the two weeks before the race as a countdown ;)
