Very Disappointed in Empire NECO ... continued..

This is nothing personal. It just gets to me when I try to get everyone together and people back out on things.

Im tired of excuses.
Im tired of no one being on the boards.
Im tired of no one participating.

(This 100% excludes the West - I only wish the East could be like the West right now).

Yesterday after the show sat 17th - me, clive, and brian WAITED AROUND FOR 1.5 HOURS and no one showed up.
Today after the show sun 18th - me and brian didn't even bother waiting around for anyone.

Please don't tell me you are going to show up for a meet and then don't attend 1) its rude 2) its just not cool 3) don't decide at the last minute "Oh I don't want to drive"

I don't know what people want here??? If its not one things its another.
If you aren't going to do anything with the club - then why did you join to begin with????????

I've got a few meet ideas in my head - but Im not even going to bring them up b/c its only going to be the same thing it always is.
SO when people decide they want to participate and actually become active members let me know - b/c until then Im done planning meets.... its a waste of my time when no one is going to go anyways.

I agree with Seth, NY is NY is NY...

yet my absence is simply because I do not have the time to participate. I am busy with other things. While I am a member of Empire Neco, it is not on the top of my list of priorities. Honestly it's one of the last at this point in time. I also have other reasons for not attending which do not need to be addressed since it would not be appropriate.

Along with this I'm sure others have noticed NECO in itself has become more of a joke than anything else as of late, so it doesn't surprise me attendance is poor.

As well, seeing the same stuff over and over again gets old, just a general rule. In the North East this has always been a problem, with low attendance, and poor attitudes. Example of this is the birth of Empire NECO and the eventual falling apart of NE NECO. One of the reasons why this chapter was formed, was to try and localize the club.

My opinion on this matter is that there should be less meets, various activities to attend to that do not nessisarily have to do with the topic of Cougars, and possibly a change of our President.

Again, thats just my opinion.

well distance is one reason i didn't join empire. seems kinda fruity to join empire when NYS is soooo HUGE!. obviously i dont want to be required to make meets that are 4+hrs away. so we started a smaller chapter for the entire long island, nyc area.

Its not so much the people who don't go and I can understand if you don't want to come for legitimate reasons. But its more about the people who say they are going and never show without any notice that they will not be coming. A post or a phone call to say you will not coming will do just fine. Like Sam said we waited for 1.5hrs for no one to show, when we could have been doing something else.

Sounds like the mini meet was too much like our first meet of the year... :thumbsdn:

Perhaps we should have a couple new rules to keep things more orderly:
1) Put your money where your mouth is - If you're going to say your going to the meet, actually go to the meet.
2) If you changed your mind - Let everyone know.
3) If you changed your mind last second - call up whomever your suppossed to meet up with and let them know.
4) If your going to be late - again, call up whomever your suppossed to meet up with and let them know.

If any of these don't seem like common sense......... well, then I don't know what to tell you.....

For those who are actually mature, responsible adults and are at the meet on time.
5) Waiting for slackers is optional, however, call them up first to figure out their deal. If they don't answer, give them 5 minutes to call back. It is illegal in NYS to drive while talking on the cell phone without a hands free kit.

The key point here is COMMUNICATION.

My opinion on this matter is that there should be less meets (less meets - you dont even attend now?? and the reason for more meets is so that more people can make them - more chances for people to attend)

various activities to attend to that do not nessisarily have to do with the topic of Cougars (how is meeting at D&B have anything to do with cougars -- nothing it didnt - you drove one there - we got a pic - we went inside sat down ate, drank, played games...) Id like to have some mod meets that are about the cougars - me and nick had a little one last year with my intake - if somone speaks up id be more than happy to help if i could.

and possibly a change of our President (give me a good reason as to why i should step down!!)

Sam before I go any further, I think you do a wonderful job with our chapter, I don't want to make you feel like your not. Your a good president and you put a lot of time and effort into it.

I didn't take your message personally, even though I did reference a situation as a single reason associated to my own actions.

I don't think a lot of people in this chapter give a sh*t about wether or not they contact you(or anyone) to tell you they are not coming (for any reason), be it lack of common sense/respect/common courtesy.

From my perspective I think that if there was some restructuring in our chapter that there might be a better response in the future(be it more or less responsibilities).

But hey opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one...

I know no one gives a rats ass - and its very frustrating

I just hate hearing about other chapters meeting all the time - whether its a mods meet or a hang out meet - and they have like 5-10 people ALL the time.

Their board is more active as well - people actually check it and post frequently

Im honestly jealous of it -- i want this chapter to be fun and for people to enjoy themselves.

I know we need more stucture - but i dont want people to think its going to be this way or no way b/c thats not true

While I certainly can't comment on your members' behavior, I have been trolling around NECO for awhile and I must say that you guys don't have it all that bad. As a member of the CEG I must say that there is really nobody outside of the metro NYC area. There are a few guys in West NY near buffalo but the vast majority of state is a ghost town for us.
Trust me, I feel your pain in that aspect. :cry:

yo guys lets speard some hugs around, :grouphug: i understand where everyone is coimg from,and i mean EVERYONE. i think if we get a little more organized and start having various things to do it will become better. i mean we have lost 2 members in the last 2 or 3 weeks so there is something wrong! me i don't totaly know what it is but i have an idea. A good idea would be for everyone here or just people reading this post to make and idea post of something to improve empire neco, and i will make a thread for all members to post in. I would rather see everyone try to make this better then just Quit. ( not directed to anyone) I may not post alot but i do see everything that is going on here. i have too due to the VP thing. you cant' help ones that can't help themselves
