I just want to inform everyone, if they ever need work done to their car, or know anyone that lives in the Ronkonkoma area that needs work done, DO NOT go to Innovative on South Second Street. Seriously, if you know anyone in the area, spread the word to them so they don't make a huge mistake like I did. I just don't want to see anyone else get ripped.
Just trying to look out for good people. :)

What kind of work do they do? Is it body work? or Stereo work? Just curious.

This is the place I got my dent removed, and my fenders and hood done.
As short as possible, The minor things:
1)Windshield squirter hose wouldn't reach from 1 squirter to the other, so instead of extending it or replacing it, they left it dangling in my engine.
2)They had to remove my rear passenger side speaker to get the dent out, they never put it back, they didnt even leave it in my car, they kept it.
3)On the ride home the molding around the window came undone
4)The mesh they put in the hood (scoop) blew out the first windy day (they used double sided tape to put it in)
5)After getting home and going to start my car again it was dead, no digital clock or anything, popped my hood, the positive cable on my battery was off (they never tightened it).
6)They had it 4 days longer then they told me it would be ready
7)There was a white powdery substance all over my leather seats.

The major things:
They never cleaned and prepped the hood or pasenger side fender right so I have fish eyes and little white spots where the paint never settled ALL over. The very front of the hood (the very edge) doesn't even have paint on it. Same with the pinstriping, it's not smooth, you can see large particles of dirt under the pinstriping.

Round 2: I brought it back when I went on vacation to get everything redone, 5 days later I go to pick it up, NOTHING was done, they didnt even start it. Gave me a sob story "I had 2 guys call in sick last week".
When I went back I saw the shop area....WOW what a filthy environment. It's no wonder the paint didnt set in spots and the pinstriping looks like crap. EVERYTHING is covered in thick dust (I guess from them sanding parts). I wish I saw this the first time, I never would have had them do it.

I now have to bring it back AGAIN when I have the time.
I don't know, maybe it's me, but when I pay thousands in labor, this doesn't seem like fair treatment.
Just so you know by the way, this shop USED to be top notch (which is why I chose it). I later found out its a different owner.

damn. im sorry i asked.

see why at times i HATE cars. its just a bad environment. you have to be on your toes about what happens when and where. heres' my bodykit story....

i had my kit sitting around for a few months. my mom was going to a partilcular shop to get something on my sister's car done. so i went along thinking i'd ask for a quote and give my mom a ride back. so i asked for a quote showed him where the parts of the kit went and how he had to shave down the visteon sides etc.. turns out price we excellent. something like 110 for front and sides to be painted and installed. so i had my gf come pick us up and i left my car there. he said, "tomorrow first thing she'll be ready."

tomorrow comes i call and i go get my car. and the car looked awesome. he comes out and we're talking and he goes, "oh btw.. you rear left tire seems out of alignment." i look and sure enough i could see it. i was like, "wow. thanks for pointing that out. i'll have that looked at. she's under warranty." so i pay, give them a nice tip, get in my car and start her up. i sat in and noticed that my steering wheel was 90 degrees. so i turn it all the way and start pulling out.

in any case i drive around the corner and kathy gets out of her car (at a red) and says, "go around the block! they fuccked up the car" i open my windows and drive and im going 10mph and my car is screaching as if i was skidding to a stop. there was no way i could drive home. I went back and started yelling. he denied anything of course. so i had to drive 10mph for about 4 miles in brooklyn to my service center and i had to leave the car there overnight (they were closed by now). turns out i had a bent left control arm. and i had to pay to get it replaced about 500 in parts and labor. How did it bend? Who bent it? when was it bent? no clue. But i do know that when i went there the car was fine. now i look back and i should have sued for all the damage they caused. what i think happened. One of their workers got in my car and went joy riding.

since then i either 1) go to my dealer/service center. i rather pay 80/hr in labor for any work done since i fully 100% trust my service center. they're awesome or 2) i install **** myself. that included those those z3's i had. i was just about to finish taking off the stock fender once when i realized i had to go out for something. so i ended up putting everything back on. im planning on lowering my car soon but i think i found a place that will do it nicely and be honest. the place has all sorts of large trucks with crazy expensive rims and such all the time. its huge and very reputable. (from what i noticed its lots of benz types)

I guess i'm kinda of lucky, one of my best friends is a mechanic and has a nice clean shop. When i want something installed he opens up shop at night and we both work on it.

SInce all this a found a shop that I completetly trust with my life. And next thing that needs to be done they are doing it. It costs a significant amount more but in my mind, its worth it. They treat the cars with care, shop is immaculate (I'd eat off the floor) poeple are great there, there just a bit pricey but I know now its worth it.
