my local ford dealer offers this and say it is covered by them? you could make money back by doing other peoples cars aswell or will it only work on the first car that it is used on i would be willing to pay you a fee if it altered my chip aswell?

Sad to say once only shot. It maps its self to your engine so cannot be used on another car. I have just seen this and was wondering about it a lot easier than standard chiping as you just plug and play.

But didn't realise only gives 11bhp but what do other chips release.

Bit more I have just had a thought. Superchips do a 7 day money back if you not happy. However before you think you can upload the new info then send it back you have to download your original settings before sending it back. But it could still be worth a look.

I have the bluefin module , it only gives about 12 hp more but the torque curve is much better about 2000rpm being equivalent to 3500rpm you can install it and uninstall it as many times as you want to your car, you can then check 0-60 30-70 times etc there is a major improvement, the car will now pull like a train in fith from 1500 rpm. 2.5 x pack.

Read above my previous post. It maps its self to your car.
This is according to superchips. Might be a way around it

How much is the unit. The guy I spoke to wanted £275 for the job.

That sounds about right I cannot remember the price I was quoted but I would say buy from superchips direct as should give you better seervice and warrenty. Plus they say 7 day money back if your not happy.

Kpnuts,

Pulls like a train eh?

Hopefully it didn't have a drastic affect on your mpg? I know of a BMW 530D that was chipped, with the addition of the extra BHP it actually gave better MPG.

Have not really checked MPG, but being able to use higher gears at lower revs may well give an increase in mpg I also have reset the ecu memory, and then driven hard for about ten minutes this may help with performance depending on how the car has been driven before.

It's £299 direct from the bluefin website:

My copy of Performance Ford with the SuperChips article in it has the price for a Cougar 2.5 V6 as £293.75 so I guess the web site includes P&P for £299
