It seems like this would have been covered before, but I can't find anything on it. I'm pretty sure I am going to get a 3.0L. I imagine the vortech that I have will swap right over to the new engine, right? I know the stock engine will be able to handle 8PSI, but if I wanted to eventually run more(you can run more boost by simply buying a smaller pully, right?), what could I do to the new engine before installing it?... Forged pistons, forged crank, better gaskets, what else? I want to build up the new engine as much as possible before I install it. I know I will need to do some drivetrain upgrades before actually running higher boost.

All the parts you mentioned plus a balanced crank then.........near 12 psi could be done. Then traction will be your problem.

What about valves? I heard somewhere something would need to be done with my valves... Is that bull$h1t?

That's what everyone tells me. I should stop posting and just pm him all the time.

by the way, with the help of others, I've decided that a 3.0 conversion is way out of my league with my current knowledge. Maybe I'll build up the 2.5 instead...

I threw an 8psi S/C on my 2.5 and I still can't get all that power to the ground. If you go 3.0 with 12psi, you better build up your tranny and suspension first. They'll take a beating. My 2¢

It's cool. I'm done with this thread.

I'd like to know the answer to that also.
