I saw the commercial today. It claims no sanding or prep needed. Will not peel etc. etc. Don't know where to get it yet. Maybe they have a website. Just a heads up to you mod guys!!!

Hmmm... I'm painting my center console soon. I'll give it a try. I don't know if this works but this is the adress for the product: http://www.krylon.com/product/gp_product_detail.asp?sgID=GP07

hmm interesting. the only downside I can see is that it is available in only 16 colors..I think that's about how many silvers alone are available in other paint products, and I had a hard time choosing the silver for my car.

The spray paint is Krylon Fusions. I work at Sherwin Williams and they sell it, as so does Sears. I tried the paint out yesterday and it covers great. You have to remember though, it takes 7 days for it to be fully chip resistant, so don't put your painted product in right away, it may chip or scratch off.

I work at a hardware store and we sell it. It sold out in a few days with only pink remaining. It is to bad there are such limited colors. However I think the "red pepper" will match my laser red coug. When some more comes in Ill be trying it out.

I talked with Krylon and some other info you may want: do not clear coat it. Yes it is very hard to find right now. I even had to argue with a local store that it comes in black and give them Kylons product code so they would order it (Krylon even told me their distribution center had it in stock). I can't wait to use it for my interior pillars/trim (just waiting for my new leather from Ford). Stores are selling out of the good colors within a day of getting them in. Have fun trying to find it.

why no clear?

Because it was made not to be clear coated and because you will loose the paint's elasticity.

SEM paint is great!....it covers up perfectly and you cant even tell if the piece is painted or not.

Go to sherwin williams....they have only eight colors but we're never sold out....actually we're not selling much of it yet. i just painted my gauge cover with the black due to some bad painting from before and it looks great. just make sure you clean it with paint thinner or you'll be left with oil spots. i'll be doing my headlights with the white soon and i see no problems with the paint. i'll post pictures of it as soon as i can.

Found paint @ SW for $4.29 + tax a can. Took 2 1/2 cans to spay all my lt. brown int. parts to gloss white. Seems to work great. You can reapply every 30 seconds (from can) but I did all my pieces and them went back and did them all again.

From can:
Dry time is 15 min or less
Handle afer 1 hour
recoat before 24 hours or after 7 days
fully chip resistant within 7 days

Minor Problems:
On my second and third can it seemed to keep clogging (I used several different nozzles however, it was still probably my fault)

Question/Opinions:
I really don't like the black line around the headlight after you paint the insides, should I try this around the lights w/o a clear coat because of the chip factor?

Stupid me question:
I read that clear coat is just the paint with no pigment...if so why can't they make the clear coat by not adding pigment (possibly dull)?

Thanks,
Brian

Crispy any help?
