im having my interior painted and wanted to get the panel off of the door that holds the window and lock controls. has anyone else painted these and how do i get them off?

I believe those pieces are actually molded to the door panel, and the only way to paint them is to tape off around the area really good, then just spray away.

you can carefully break the welds and then reglue them back after you modify the tabs and use a good plastic weld

did you have any trouble putting it back on, what did you use to make it stay put once it was painted?

actually this isn't MY door... mine look better :biggrin: - hows that for an ego! heh!
the door belongs to "lilfiesty" on this board...
but i asked her how she did it, and she said that since the "swoop" is a softer kind of rubber than the rest of the door, the people who did it for her had to mix in some kind of rubber compound into the paint to make it "flex" with the handel - but she said so far so good! :)
