View Full Version : what is normal compression (in a compression test) for a stock 3l engine?
found one that they test compresison on and their readings were 225 215 230 215 220 & 250 .... is this normal?

That is fairly good ... anything above 190 is good. Not sure of the "out of the factory" readings, but those are on the high side of what I have seen on car-parts.com

Those sound pretty good I think the tester I had also said anything above 180 or 190 is fine. The SVT engine I tested got I think 190 220 240 200 230 250. I remember 190 for sure anyway the others were in low to mid 200's.
