Has anyone out there had any experience of fitting a towbar to a cougar!

Before anyone asks - its definitely not for a caravan!

Wondering if there were any nice removable ones available and how easy are they to fit!

Isn't there an optional extra of a detachable tow arm? It is mentioned in owners manual.

I've no experience myself but a colleague of mine just fitted a towbar to his wife's Cougar (unfortunately for a caravan!).
He researched fitting generic ones but it would have meant cutting the bumper.
In the end he went for the proper Ford one and here's several good reasons why. There's mounting points ready for it to just bolt on, the bar is detatchable and the sockets fold away underneath the bumper. Apparently you'll never notice it's got one with the bar removed and the sockets folded away.
I can't remember what he paid for it but he did say it was expensive. He managed to fit it himself.

Hope this helps.

Thats been a great help - looks like i'll have a trip to the ford dealer tomorrow!

Cant stand the though of hacking the bumper! Might have to save up for a while for one though!

Thanks for the info!
