Its starting to get where it seems like at every event there's 5 or more cars with primer color body kits, gigantic wings, oversized exhaust, and other rather ricey items.

Had one this past weekend that had those tiny 10" rims that stuck 2 feet out to the sides of the car. Course the car dropped a valve halfway through his first run.

Anyone else noticing this?

Hehehe, just testing out my 'edit message by moderator' option.

Our events are usually 45 minutes outside of Houston. When we're out there, there is very little rice. But every now and then we have events closer in to town. Those bring in ricers galore. Last one there was some guy with a S14 that might have been turbo'd with huge wing and stickers. Dumbass would fly around the parking lot making his car backfire. When it came to actually running he drove like utter crap. That's usually the case with the riced out cars.

Some of the guys that came over from Swampland NECO will remember this guy.

White Honda Accord "Type-R" with yellow/black checker board graphics, oversized F-1 style wing, oversized exhaust, the usual rice deal. This guy even had on a set of nice driving shoes.

You'd thought he was Micheal Schumacher! custom_images/emoticons/shocked.gif

But he absolutely could not drive for crap! He grinded every gear. His clutch drop at the start would make a transmission repainman happy. And I've never seen someone put so much unnecessary steering input into a car as he did.

He did one run, then left. And has never been back. I've seen him at the local car gathering talking up about how he drove at the auto-x.

I think one day I'm gonna have to go over to him and own him by showing everyone the time sheets where I beat him by almost 13 seconds, running on the crappy BFGoodrich's I have.

Fortunately, here in Denver, not a lot of rice makes it to the meets. Last I saw, there were 3 stock GT Celicas turning times far worse than the car deserved, one N class Neon who was running impressive times, and one genius Accord who had his Koni's set so hard that he was skipping off the course. And a lot of Imprezzas.

We did have one person with a fully prepared stock car. Good doughnuts, bad times.

Occassionally a ricer will make it, but in most cases they wander in after registration... troll around a bit
then do a ricer fly by out of the lot... while we watch in utter disbelief.... hehe
