well I am dissapointed I ran at the track last night and my best time was a measly 16.5. I mean I guess I must have been expecting too much but I was at least hoping for high 15's oh well I guess.

I think if you didnt have the ww kit/spoiler/wheels/audio setup/spare tire and whatever else weighs the car down you coulda got in the high 15's

Dont worry about it, when the track gets warmer you will run better times,if you ever get a chance go to the fayettville track it hooks very good. by the way where did you launch youre car at ?

Yea the track was ****ty, I raced on Wed at Darlington, not sure when I launch I was more nervous than anything. I made some bad mistakes, went with my system, and a full tank of gas. I may raise my suspension up a little next time. The track was pretty wet and I know I ran through the water box once so that kinda messed me up. I just really want to get to a 15.9 just so I can say I am at least in the 15's ya know :-)

i still havn't gotten use to it adrian.........i ran a 10.7 in the 1/8th. my best time after 3 runs and i'd never done it before. my friend then drove my car and ran a 10 flat............it upset me, lol.

again, this is the 1/8th so look at that time on your slip and compare.........you probably did better than me, lol

my three runs, with a full tank of gas, consisted of:
11.3.....wheel spin
11.7.....more wheel spin
10.7......was told to move by guy workin the tree and didn't think i was going to get a time so i just casually went down the track......i would have went faster if i had known.........."by casually.......i mean my casually....which is not really casual cause i'm a crazy driver but whatever"

you'll do better.........but i would loose some weight......audio, spare, fuel, etc. i had to run with a full tank cause my fuel injection seems clogged and it bucks. i got this really good stuff from a friend but i think it needs one more treatment......it's called "sea foam".........but that's another story;)

well lets see here on the 4 slips I have I ran a 10.8, 10.6, 10.8, and 12.06 my worst quarter time was a 17.978 Oh well I will see what happens next time.

Next time, avoid the water box. With an air intake and the resanator removed my first run ever at the track was a 15.3, then on my next run I ran a 17.1 becuase I could not get traction, the water box killed my time. I spun so bad I had a 2.7 60 FT time. so next time if you can avoid the water box and launch from 1000 RPM, you should have better results. :)

Yes but our cars have the same manual tranny, MTX-75....Youve got 5-speed right

MeanKat
03-11-2003, 04:09 PM
Yea but you have much better internals than us. More power I believe as well.

The only difference in my tranny is the clutch, flywheel and pressure plate, But if you get into the engine its not as different as you think the only major differences are the way the engine breathes.

60mm throtle body
Extrude honed UIM,LIM
bigger mass air (cant remember what size though)
19 pound injectors
Cams are a little different
and ive got a stronger crank

launch from *1000* rpm? .... ...seriously?

MagicHallucinations
03-12-2003, 12:16 PM
ummmmm, why does that seem wrong to me:shrug:.......it will bogg from that rpm, you won't even catch a wheel with that, lol. i launch at about 2.5-3 grand and it works. my friend launched at 3 when he ran a 10 flat........granted he has a mangled thumb that he can't really use but when my car was stock he ran a 10.2.......this is in the 1/8th again, just so no one get's confused.

It depends on the track conditons, if the track dosent hook very well I launch at 1000 because of to much wheel spin.
