my car was put in the shop thursday
ive got 2 12" kicker solar baric L5s and a 600 mono watt amp
i want to do a mix setup -- fiberglass, plexy glass, tweed & of course neons.
i gave them some ideas and found some pics and i was like - ok take these 6 pictures and put them all together for my install -- hehe
just if anyone wants to photoshop an idea or attach a picture it would be appreciated
thanks

Out of curiousity, how much are they charging you?
I'm always skeptical of audio shops...which is probably why I do 90% of my installs.

Didn't use fiberglass for my install, but here are some pics...

well the guy thats doing the install - is a friend of mine - well i havent seen him in like 6 years (military) and was so happy to see him and know that he was still into cars.
i told him i dont want to spend over $1200 - his boss - told him not to charge me over $1100. - its not like im paying a flat rate - he is keeping my car for like 3 weeks - i told him to take his time, do a good job, buy top stuff, have all the wires perfect, etc... he said he would take care of me.
i mean materials alone is going to cost between $600-800 at the least. i dont mind giving him $300 for labor. - after the fiberglass, plexy, tweed (looking at $100 alone), buildling the box, painting it, i told him he has to use at least 8 streetglow neons in the trunk too.
i mean its for shows - not so much just to have some subs and an amp in the trunk - been there with just a box - if this looks good - i know it will sound good - im hoping to enter into audio and car shows with it.
trust me if i could do the work bymyself i would, but i cant!

if it's 1100$ total for a full blown install...then that's a pretty fair price...didn't mean to throw out negative vibes for my comments....just I get pissed off sometimes when I hear about people getting ripped by their local car audio shop/installers.
Oh and I'm lovin' your avatar.

$1100 would be a GREAT price. My install LABOR ALONE (just labor, MDF, wiring, and vinyl) cost a little over $800 not including the cost of the components, plexiglass, neons (there are three tubes in the trunk) or diamond-plate, and I got a GREAT deal. The shop took two weeks to do all the work, and once they were done, they realized that they didn't charge me nearly enough for the work involved. All the other shops I talked to quoted me prices STARTING at $1500 (also not including the cost of materials). People came into the shop I went to after seeing my install and the shop told them to duplicate the setup I have the price would START at $2000.
