So everyone knows, here is some important information regarding the cruise weekend.

Morana V6 Ford Challenge (http://www.v6ford.net)
Yes this race will cost money, but you get track time and a shot at some prize money if you're fast enough. There will also be a show n' shine for those that do not wish to race.

Racing Costs: $40 USD/$60 CDN
Show n' Shine Costs: $14 USD/$20 CDN
Attendance Costs: About $6 USD/$10 CDN

From what I understand, if you plan on racing and showing, you only have to pay for the racing costs, not both. Everyone is urged to pre-register for the race if you plan on coming, it will be cheaper than showing up at the gate. Pre-Registration deadline for the V6 Challenge is May 1st. There is no cut-off date for Can-Am Cruise.

Hotel
We have a hotel, but it is a little on the expensive side if you're staying alone, so cram together in that room!

Ameri-Cana Resort (http://www.americananiagara.com/)
Book for May 24th, that would be for Saturday evening. The plan would be to come back from the V6 races in London and stay in Niagara Falls for the evening taking in the sights.

Can-Am Cruise (http://www.geocities.com/canamcruise)
Can-Am Cruise will take place on Sunday around the Niagara Falls area. This is free although we may ask that you help out by bringing some food or drinks for the BBQ. For more information see the website.

Note that I booked that hotel through hotels.com to get a good rate.

Ken, you might want to add that to your comments on the CanAm page.

So far this is who we have listed as coming......

Pierre Tessier - paid
Joshua Lewis - paid

and

Ken Zollitsch - unpaid

Anyone else thinking of coming post your name here and we'll add you to the list, the more people listed the more it encourages others to come, if no one is listed others may not come cause they may think no one else is coming so why bother, so send me some names folks.

it's called 'bracket racing'.

it doesn't matter if you have a 17, 12 or 8 second car, bracket racing is about getting as close to your dial-in time without going over (think of it like price is right)

so it makes no difference HOW fast you are...

PuckPuck

also usually bracket racing is done so the slower car will have the tree light up before the faster car so you end up crossing the line at about the same time every time....

Hamill, if I've got the time, you've got a race. lol

dial-in time ???

mcon99, I'm not familiar with this term. Is it my guestimated time?

V6Sprout
04-01-2003, 01:05 AM
yes your dial in time is your guesstimated time for your eliminations rounds. You figure out your dial in time by your qualifying runs, we require a minimun of 3 qualifying runs and from them you can either average your times to get your dial in, or take your best run and use it as your dial in. Last year we choose everyones dial in's for them based on their qualifying runs, we took their best run then took 2 tenths off it (eg. 15.7 as your best run, we made your dial in 15.5) This way there was a 2 tenths breakout rule, meaning you could go 2 tenths faster then your best run and not be disqualifyied. If you go faster then your dial in you LOSE automatically. If both BREAK OUT as it is called, then who ever was closest to the dial if still wins.

Hope that helps.
