With the deluge of snow around Maryland, the antenna on one of our Cougars got snapped off during snow removal. The bolt the comes out of the mounting actually snapped. What's the repair options here? Is this just a two ended bolt that could be replaced, or would the entire mounting have to be replaced?

Any ideas, suggestions, etc welcome.

pretty sure the whole mount has to be changed. Search under "problems" because i think it was talked about in there a while back.

Yea, this happened to mine a little while ago. I took it to the dealership, and the whole thing had to be replaced.

I believe you can do the repair yourself, too... I know that I can access the base of my antenna from underneath the interior light on the roof... so I would expect that you could do the same, ordering the part from FPO or your dealership, and do the swap in ten minutes....

Had this happen when I bought the car. Easy repair to do yourself, takes about 10 minutes. Have the Ford dealership order the antenna bezel or base, you don't need the mast or the cable (unless the mast broke too). Then get inside your car, take a small flat-head screwdriver, and pop out the plastic trim square that surrounds your dome and map lights. From there you'll see a wad of foam up in your roof. Remove the foam, and you'll see the antenna cable screwed into the roof. Use a torx and unscrew the antenna cable, once it's loose be careful not to let it drop down in the car. Once the anteena cable is loose, the bezel on the exterior roof will come off. Then just put the new bezel on the roof, and screw the antenna cable back into it. Replace the foam, pop the trim piece back on, and screw on the mast. That's it.

Ask Sunni bout this problem......You have to replace the whole antenna base, unfortunately....
