Im planning on buying a cougar here sometime hopefully by the end of june or july ($$ saving) but I usually make cash quick by web-design so im very interested in moding the car. I know enough to get by and am doing alot of research for myself and someone who will be helping me through the processes. and I have a few questions about either the itsturbo or the SF turbo kits.
1. whats estimated engine life? I mean this will be my only car. if it blows im sol till i fix/replace it.
2.Whats the labor costs? I see kit prices but whats estimated labor?
3. how well will the system work on a 3.0 L witch out of chance I actually happen to have...(99 trs, weird reasons)
4. I plan to get the 3.0 before the kit(off topic) how easy is the replacement? straight?
5.What are some suggested mods and or requirements for the kits?
6.what are the times your getting, Ive noticed there are only about 4 cougars with this and all i see are dynos...
7.SC or turbo?

I know its kinda lame but id be a big help... thx

SC is obviously easier to install (no exhaust work) but turbo gets you much more power. I would recommend upgrading engine mounts, adding torque bars, and new suspension to handle all the extra power you'll be producing. The biggest problem is getting all that power to the ground.

I run a 14.8 in my SC, but I'm confident I can do better once I upgrade the list above.

The engine wasn't designed for FI, but if you run 8psi or less, your engine life will be about the same as stock. The higher you go, the sooner you'll have to replace seals/rebuild/posssible detonation.

Installation cost will be high. The one shop that quoted me before I decided to do it myself said $2,000+ but they didn't guarantee that would be the final price. That was for a SC so I imagine a turbo will be more.

At any rate congratulations on your choice! I'm at a car show that hasn't even opened yet surrounded by hondas and acuras and people are spending more time at my car than any of the other ones around me. It's nice to standout.

Im thinking of unloading my 2000V6 w/ under 19,500 miles on it! Ive got a huge list of mods and pics if interested, probably wouldnt want more than $11,000. And once again i said i was thinking of unloading, not sure yet!
